Then you will have to start thinking what is moving in that area when the engine is running. If it is not engine ancillaries, then it is time to think of the drive train. Torque converter, fluid pump or intermediate plate bearing. I take it you did check fluid level as per Rave

I wonder if some people realise that internal bearings do fail from time to time?

Just a quick update, I've pinned it down to the tensioner pulley under the alternator. Could hear it quite clearly through a screwdriver so I shall be replacing it sharpish. Quite a bit of movement there, too.

Hmm, found it on eurocarparts but it seems to be the whole tensioner and not just the pulley, part number 326670120

Anyone known if its possible to get just the pulley?

Hi, changed mine not so long back, think it is a complete unit, worth changing the whole thing anyway at least you will know that your belt is tensioned correctly.:D

Haven't bought any yet - was gonna nip to eurocarparts today. Juatbtheybcharge £65 or so for the same part!

Just ordered one - hopefully it'll come quickly so I can get it on. Mine is getting noisier by the day and I fear for it's life!

..and it's arrived! woohoo!

Anyone got any specific tips on replacing these? Aside from looking at RAVE? I know different engines can have their own wee... quirks that make even these straightforward jobs a pita!

Take the belt off first:D
