Which threadlock on 300tdi Flywheel bolts?

This might well be better off in the engines section, but there's always a bit of confusion over which threadlock/loctite to use all over the landy.

I'll be doing my clutch this weekend and will replace the rear crank oil seal, so what should I use on the flywheel bolts when I reassemble? Loctite 243? I've got a tiny bit left, and some of the solid/stick type loctite (can't remember the number) but can't see a better type on their site for flywheels...

torque keeps the bolts in place. so do that right.

i just stuck a drop of red (243) on just incase or vibes and oil. tbh anything would probably do. new uns have a bit of compound on them already.
 
Probably the most valuable thing you can do is fit new bolts. I was re-using some flywheel bolts a few years ago and they felt a bit funny tightening them up. On taking them out again it turned out that some of them had developed a rather disturbing 'neck' where they had stretched. New bolts torqued up nice and tight to recommended value will do more to keep your flywheel on than worrying about the precise kind of Loctite.
 
In my case I didn't know they were going to stretch until I was tightening them on reassembly. So it's a good idea to have some spares about.
