thats great ta, just looking for information.

I hate it when people say that on forums as your not looking at all. Your expecting everyone to jump through hoops and give it to you on a plate. Why not google discovery and read for youself and then come back and ask a proper question.

Sometimes it's good to get verbal opinion rather than a written review. You just need to loosen up a little and stop playing the big man. I understand that you get your chance to inflate your ego on a forum and play the hard miserable turnip but its a bit sad dont you think. If you have nothing worth posting then dont post at all.

Theres nothing verbal about a writen forum and as you couldn't be arsed to read any of the rules and posted your pointless dribble anyway I have the right to comment. Im far from acting the "big man" and by the looks of it you've only come on here to be a troll. So expect some blunt comments when you ask a dumb and pointless question. As many have said, including myself,go and use google and read for yourself and if you have a question on a specific thing about a disco then by all means come back, but don't start throwing insults about because your a lazy ****.

Sorry fella, didn't realise this was your house! I do a lot of reading thanks and I wanted a general opinion, but I don't need to explain myself. It's because I asked a question that does not fit in with a particular snobbery you consider it 'dumb and pointless'? Each and every question on here is relative and is as relevant as the next. If I had known the forum was riddled with the 'THOUGHT POLICE' I would have asked the question elsewhere with that offers a more tolerant atmosphere. Also with regard to throwing insults? As soon as I posted my question, all in the best possible taste may I add, the insults were flying immediately. You provide a weak argument in truth. I am new to the forum and deserve a little slack like you probably expected when you first joined. Your probably the nicest, social guy on the planet and a joy to be around, but here..........:puke: Looks like I will have to take my stupid questions elsewhere. How do you delete your account? Is that a better question? ------FIN------

This is getting good:pop2:

You still there? :boink:

Welcome to LZ initiation. Read any question threads first few pages and they are all the same:eek:

Whatever you buy you will need to get a Mig welder, all of them rust so as said the more you pay the better the landy. Get a low mileage disco that has had all the welding done to a high standard, with some off road toys you will pay 5-7k depending on age and mods. Pay £1200 and you will get a high mileage workhorse that needs new tin.

It also helps to introduce yourself at the start, then people are a bit more friendly

Muddyflaps don't go its a kinda initiation.

If you ever intending going somewhere in Africa in your Disco get a Disco 1 that's the only advice I can offer, not because I have been but because I know loads of people who have, and have broken down and they can be fixed. Other than that, buy what you want a Disco 2 is a much nicer car to drive.

All Disco's have issues, but the older you go the more rust you can get, but they will be cheaper to fix.

And what ever you do, don't ask what tyres to put on the car ;-)

:dnfnoob:

haha, thanks for sweatin me people! Bit like the tunnel of death when I was a kid!

I'm just gonna buy an early discovery and take whatever come on the chin. No more F'in pansy questions.

What tyr.............

Not my house at all, just keeping the carpets clean. Everyone asks a stupid question first, however without the bluntness people will never help themselves. They just sit there typing stupid dribble that could of been answered with a simple search and 10mins of their time. Landyzone has a wealth of knowlege and people willing to help, but first you got to help yourself.

When I was looking for a 4X4 I activly avoided all Land Rovers, but ended up with a nice 300 Tdi. My advice is look and look and look. There are a few good ones out there, but most people are tending to hang on to the early ones, due to the simplicity of the engine and running gear ie no electronics (other than on the 300 Auto). A mate of mine sometimes gets a good low miler in for sale, usually for around 3K for a near mint example.

Good hunting.
