Whilst Ive been reading through I have noticed alot of people asking for some advice on their disco's and after the sound advice has been given there is no Thank You or cheers or any acknowledgement of a helpful whisper what so ever..I know that this is a free site and everyone is entitled to their own opinion but a simple THANKYOU that saved me £200 in garage fees wouldn't go a miss ???
Also while I'm here when people ask for advice and various advice has been given it would be nice if the people asking would finish with telling what the remedy was to fix said problem...
Sorry for the rant and thank you for your time....Tosh..

I will always thank people for there advice :)
As you say a simple thank you costs nothing.
Now stop ranting :p haha.
Seriously though you have a good point :)

Its a very good point, thanks costs nothing.

I dunno what Id do without forums, they have made all the engine conversions iv done sooooooo much better and theres always an answer to a question. Dunno where Id be without em.

Totally agree Tosh, but sadly a lot of people join up to get the advice, fix their motor, save money and then forget about the site until they're stuck again. You'll find the vast majority of member's who log in regularly almost always give out an indication of gratitude.

some people dont have em, some just dont think. some dont even come back to look at replies.
kind of annoying when you get a common post thats an easy answer and find its the op's first post.
or the question that just states "i got a rattle on my rover. who knows what it is and how to fix it"
or those that ask for help and dont say where they are.

tis nice when you get the thanks, and find a solution to a problem. would like to think i've made a few friends on here thru it.

rant over.

thanks for listening.

being a new member, i just read this post and immediately went and checked any of my posts where i had asked for advice, phew thank god i hadn't forgot my manners.

now that i know im not guilty of being an ignoramus, i fully endorse and support your sentiments.

Arses the lot of em!

I love them threads where the OP returns and says what the problem was.

When you read it, you get to the end and say "ahhh" and think what a good thread that was.

Charging a membership fee keeps the **** out, but then landyzone wouldn't be landyzone without freeloaders and all the information and banter they provide.

I'm on discovery owners club, it a great forum and well organised, but it's definitely very "how do you do" etc.

Cheers :D

I say an extra special thanks to people who go out their way to help me.
For example, today Smarty went out of his way to pm me about an issue and has now sent me something in the post FOC. Massive respect, and great to see such generosity on the forum. Not that long ago JPS did the same, top fellas!! :D :D :D

I was thinking of joining but dont like sites that dont let you get a feel of the place first before having to pay, I get suspicious and think it must be **** :D

I was also thinking it was a bit flat cap and tweed jacket than muddy trainers and jeans :p

Its a good point. While I DO say thanks I am often guilty of not following up with the result of the fixs suggested.....I will pay more attention to that in future as this forum has saved me money time and sanity time and time again.

Not a **** site mate, lots of good info good jokes and no idiots. There is a non members area...

It is a lot of flat cappage on there, and you really feel like your a member of the queens discovery club! :D

It's good though, you get some free **** and a monthly magazine!

Cheers :)
