Perfect this is good to hear and pretty much exactly what I was thinking although the washer simpler!

There is arround 3-4mm of thread after the nut and I wanted it as strong as possible hense the idea with the 4mm plate.

The axle thankfully looks fine its just the bracket. If I can find a substantial enough washer I'll do you you guys have but add a couple of tabs to the bracket to make sure no further movement occurs.

Use locktite or a locknut, or buy a longer bolt and and use a lockwasher! To make sure nothing untoward happens!
Be prepared to spend ages sitting under there with a round file!
