What's your MPG

do u think getting a landy chipped takes away a lot of the mpg range

of course as mentioned how much u stick ur foot down or if ur towing etc has many factors on the mpg

what's best do u think , getting it chipped or synergy tuning box

may get mine done but never owned a disco before so don't know how these engines differ etc

that's what i've quickly learned in mined , in having the mpg display

when i first had it , was showing around 17mpg which i felt on the motorway at 60 was a tad low, also felt as though it was hanging back , but then after cleaning out the map sensor got 21 it did at one stage around 55mph went up to 27mpg , which to be honest am pleased about

think i might squeeze a few mpg when i do the egr bypass, maybe 1-2 mpg but think i will notice it more around town and know when i done the bypass on the hippo it helped and improved the smoothness and torque of the engine

don't know if it's worth fitting a synergy on this d3 , but was impressed with the last one , some go for remaps
Those in the dash MPG are very in accurate. The ONLY way to get true MPG is fill the tank to full record mileage on the odometer, then when the tank is empty fill the tank again record the mileage on the odometer then do the math. it is a simple subtraction and division on about a 5th grade level.

only if you got a egg on the accelerator pedal

And that is only accurate if your odometer is accurate i.e. exactly the right size tyres. The only really accurate way is to record distance with GPS. And yes, I do appreciate that I'm being picky :)

Mine was spot on brim to brim against the display but that's not really the point.

It gives a really clear indication of the effect of driving styles.

And "ONLY" accurate if you run it till it conks out. How do you know what's left in the tank if you don't? There is NO way to get TRUE mpg as too many variables.

Then you are 1 lucky fooker then:rolleyes:

I don't really mind whether it's accurate, as a comparison tool it's interesting.

I wonder how many would still boot it to overtake if they had to flip a pound coin out the window to do so?

Maybe they would but they're prolly the same people who'll drive 5 miles out of their way to buy fuel a penny a litre cheaper :p

MPG is not range, you don't need to run out of fuel to find out it's mpg. It's about what it's used, not what is left.... ;)

Might want to draw him a picture, them northern fookers are rather thick headed and thin skinned

That reminds me. Thank you for the picture you sent me but please don't do it again.

Numpty. You brim it, drive....the further the better.....and brim it again.

Your 2nd fill up is exactly how much fuel you've used :)
Never thought of that..Doh
Still variables though. Driving style, tyres, flat/hilly roads. You will only get a ballpark figure. Which I suppose is good enough.
I'm going back to work now before I make an a--e of myself again.
