the e box according to rave is the box where the ecu and all that stuff is next to the fuse box under the bonnetI don't even know where or what an e-box is - never mind the thingamy whatsit inside.

I can hear mine sometimes without the test method. I think it depends on the ambiant air temperature, if you've been stopped in traffic and how hot yer engine is. All this would make yer E box warmer I guess.After switching off the engine you can hear that little fan running out for some seconds, at least I can hear it in mine, and no need to test it or follow a special routine. Just daily shut off and I hear it inside the car. But don't forget we on the continent sit on the side of that box, almost ON it, where Uk drivers sit the other side, maybe that's the difference ?
