most as in the majority. However i understand that this doesnt encompass all.And yes people might be off to bed at 10:30.or 9.45.or other times. but generally night time = bed time for people.

Sean your rareing to go today.Makes you look desperate.

no not at am, am fairly mellow having spent the afternoon digging out me new workshop footings am sat ere looking fer ebay bargains and passing the time of day until me roast chicken dinner is ready

Look at it this way... we can say with confidence that 'most' people will be home late in the evening on a weekday, but there's no real way to tell just how many people at work would be able to use eBay during the day. We know however that at least some places of work don't allow access to eBay to their employees (certainly when I worked at both Volvo and Land Rover main dealerships, eBay, Facebook, YouTube etc were all blocked).

So when listing, you can't please everybody, but on balance I would agree with Sean that the best time to list is late in the evenings for maximum exposure.

Stastically auctions that have been on for 10 days and end on sunday evenings between 7.30 and 9 get the seller best value for money. Kids have gone to bed and it's a bit of chill out time before the grown ups go to bed - and they are feeling a bit fed up coz it's sunday evening, so just click to BIN coz they can't be arsed! (i made that last bit up but it sounds logical!)

Right last and final message, got messed about by final bidder and second caller and third caller so sold it to fourth bloke who took it off my hands for £500 and I was very happy and I hope he is too. Thanks for everyone's input. xx
