I think I was lucky (ish). When I bought Freddie, he came with 2 good front tyres 225,55,17 and 2 slicks on the back! The spare was a slick too. I went to local part worn dealer and he offered 3 x 225,55,17 for £120 or if I wanted to 'upsize', I could have 5 x 225,60,17 for £130 as he had an abundance of them. All basically brand new Hanooks. 3 guesses which I went for....

Report on Falken Landair AT after some years of use:
These show little wear and grip well in snow but, this summer with road surfaces being at egg-frying temperature, they become a little soft and I have to take it easy on bends to avoid too much lurch and difficult steering.
