what is the point of LPG

I every one I have spent many hours sorting my R R and I must say well pleased ,that was until I
called at my regular fuel stop only to find no longer sell LPG so went to the other one I used and
low and behold they have stopped as well .
The first one a main Flo gas depot in Beverley where they fill cylinders of all sizes they also had a pump
for vehicles not any more said they did not sell enough !! It's a ruddy gas depot and can't cost any more
to sell from a pump as I all ways bought 80 lo 90 litre's cant see the logic but there you go progress !!
The other place said the same I thought all those eco friendly people out there would love it, my R R
after about 20 seconds leaves petrol and runs on gas whalla no bad emissions what the eck do they want
now got 20 mile round trip I know its cheap its the ruddy hassle sorry about spelling mistakes bit choked up
after all my efforts making this baby buzz watch this space it may come up for sale !!??****
 
I had LPG on my old 110 csw lucky enough Morrisons and Embassy Gas were my regular visits. Sadly until I needed to say bye bye due to family caring role. But the issue I found was the lack of LPG registered garages dwindled several years back. I genuinely think when Diesel was praised as the new wonder drug the focus was taken off the LPG route. Not forgetting risk and insurance factor might of put a few into safe zone with Diesel. In some respects the push should have been from manufactures to offer LPG as a third fuel source long time ago.
 
M had a RR 4.6 on LPG about 15yrs (I think) ago and it was a pain to find places, surely it’s got to have got better? Obviously not;)

I reckon that more than 70% of (petrol)cars run on LPG here and pretty much every garage has it.

BioLPG,, is much cleaner and renewable. It also uses existing and well developed tech, ie the petrol engine
It's also safe! So what's the real reason is not popular if saving the planet is so important? We'd much rather go down the less eco friendly route of electric. Electric we can't even generate yet
 
P38 4.6 an L322 SC and Cayenne all running on LPG.

the government threw behind diesel which they are now back tracking from.. any retard knows the particulate difference.

as the government neglected LPG interest has waned my local LPG petrol station stopped doing it what 4 years ago. its a 16 mile round trip to the next nearest one. on the 120 mile journey for the wife to visit the outlaws if she goes M25, A40 no LPG stations at all, if we go M3, A34 there's 5.

we've had retards making fuel/emissions policy decisions.
 
I ran LPG in a RRC 3.9L back in 2002/3.
It could be a pain to find sometimes, even in those days. After 12k on it a liner slipped & all my saving on running costs (& more) went out the window replacing the block* Not long before that the professionally installed LPG system needed work, just after the warranty expired :mad:
LPG? you can keep it !

* before you ask, the car was well maintained with an efficient cooling system.

Mine's been on LPG for years, no issues & when I was using it daily was a considerable saving.
I still have 2 LPG selling garages within 5 miles of home. Very popular with local private hire taxi drivers.
On the run to Cornwall I used to call in at the Shell at Bristol - J17 Catbrain/Cribb's Causeway - but this year arrived to find they'd stopped doing it about 3 months prior due to lack of demand.
I think there's another LPG seller nearby - Andy's Gas - but not open at the times I pass through.
I'm given to understand Gordano & Exeter services do LPG but not used either.
 
The LPG fill-up points have been "dwindling" for a long while now.
BP used to have quite a few, but round here they seem to have pulled out.
 
I've had 2 V8's on LPG, a 110 and a Disco, never had a real problem with it, though both were the old 3.5 lump. Came out to France with the Disco and although there were (are ?) enough LPG stations around I just got fed up of the hassle of planning my route to get a fill on a long journey. Ended up getting a 200Tdi Disco which was the first time I'd had a diesel, then got a 200Tdi 90 and now also a VM classic.
I liked the LPG, but motoring is so much easier now that I don't have to plan beforehand. Just being a lazy snowflake I guess. :D:D

Diesel is cheap over there anyway. Rumour has it they produce too much for a reason I cannot remember.

Leigh Delamare does LPG, the one before is Chiveley, those are where I sometimes stop
 
:mad::mad:My L322 runs gas and in the last month the nearest station has stopped selling it. Now have a 15 mile run once a week to fill. Stupid thing is in Dover where I work it’s 73ppl yet at the weekend stopped on the M2 and it was 63ppl. Figure that out.
