What have you done to your Landie today.

Hi Jason, that aerial seems a bit low to me, and not just that, you have a good chance that the positive (the whole aerial) will short with the body as that is the ground plane. You might not have a problem now but when you off roading and the aerial springs about and knocks the powder coating off the problems might start occurring. Plus If you want the full potential of your aerial it should be mounted as high as possible.
not criticizing mate just some good advice.

Emptied out all its pipes so I could get to all the belts and spent a good hour wrestling with my spanner and sockets to try and tighten the worn belts up :/

Over due for its service so I am gonna buy all me oils when I've some spare monies :)

topped up with engine oil, cos I forgot to change sump gasket when I had the chance and now it loses 1 litre every 6 months.
not bad for a Landy though I suppose

Discovered that the bearing in my fan belt idle wheel is knackered. Going to replace both of them tomorrow if I can get them locally.

Replaced my leak off pipes then for some strange reason tried to bleed my clutch system in the vain hope that my clutch fluid was being stolen by pixies and not the slave cylinder, yes it was the slave cyl .... After removing slave cyl I couldn't help myself but put my fingers in a dark hole .... The bell housing feels like it is full of muck and **** dowsed in old clutch fluid is the best way to wash it out with brake cleaner as thought that wouldn't contaminate clutch etc....

not doing any damage atall bud,and theres no signs saying no entry as far as we seen but, thought i would share but wont bother next time, sorry if i upset you lol

The desert is private property and belongs to the coalboard. (IIRC.) Driving on land not forming Part of a public highway, is an offence under the Road Traffic Act. (Unless you have the express permission of the Land Owner) The Desert's status has been discussed on just about every 4x4 & trialsbikesforum in the UK. The golfcourse has had a continuing campaign to get anyone using the desert, prosecuted. andalong with the local council have paid the police to patrol the desert. Plod mounts special patrols all the time.

If some BusyBody sends em a link to the vid you posted You could find yourself with a section 59 notice. On top of that it makes this forum look bad if we are seen to be condoning illegal offroading. As to the Criminal damage. Creating or deepening the ruts is criminal damage, in the eyes of plod.

I have been doing more electrics.

Worked out why hazards and fag lighter stopped working over the weekend - 10A fuse

Working my way all over the 90 - previous owners / whatever seem to have snipped wires at random, left them lying about. I started with the battery and moved into the engine bay at first. Example being I had a red wire terminated on the battery going some where. WTF is this? - turned out nothing, just was clipped off in the engine bay. Ah, good prospect for a short.

I am also seeing ****e cable joins. Attached image a good example of the state in the 90 (well if I could drive this fully automatic camera it would be: rear near side light wireing); Top - joins of twisted bare copper wrapped in insulation tape, Middle - number plate light feed fell out when I touched it, Bottom - showing cables clipped and left lying loose with no end protection (believe me end protection can be important - I have a daughter to show for the fact).

:5brant:
DO NOT get me started on the soldering.

If you are going to solder on a 90 that one day will be mine then at least go on a training course and learn how to solder propperly.

Blobby

Dry

On verdigris

More - RANT

When doing electrics when you have finished I do not want to see any bare copper or bare metals of connectors.

OK
