What have you done to your Landie today.

Ever since I bought the D2 I was noticing a slight knocking sound whenever I went over rough terrain or bumps. I have checked the bushes throughly all round and all seemed well so have left it whilst doing other jobs. Now the exhaust is fixed, I decided to take another look today.

Expecting to find something expensive and difficult I was pleasantly surprised to find the source of the knocking was the heat shield above the middle silencer. it was loose on one end due to the shield wearing away around the two rear fixings. A quick trip to Halfords and two large washers later, it is now secure and a test drive over some rough terrain. No more knocking. If only all problems were so easily resolved!

Today I held up a traffic cop doing about 56mph on a 60mph stretch, I could tell he wanted to overtake but he couldn't safely without going past 60, take that you bunch of ****s :D

Recieved my new rear crossmember off press brake i would defo reccomend to anyone to get one off him the difference between his and the standard one just got to get it welded on now.

Fitted my stereo radio cassette player, a Sharp no less;)

Can play my tapes now though my single bad boy Kenwood speaker:D

Changed oil, air and fuel filters. Plus used some engine flush before putting new oil in.

There is a strange rattle coming from the gearbox, rear engine sort of area, can't pinpoint exactly but it spuds almost like a chirping from a bird. Anyone have any idea what it may be? I did notice there is a slight leak from the front prop to transfer box seal. But the fluid only drops slightly from fill up, and I filled it about 3 days ago
