Had a look at my dodgy clutch. The fluid is running down the pedal. Guessing it is. New master cylinder? Are they hard to change? Also do ppl think it will be ok to drive so long as I keep the fluid topped up? Kinda need to get to work this evening haha

Welded sill, replaced my fish bowl of a head light, replaced abs sensor, fitted new wipers , replaced number plate bulbs and a few other niggles, time to warm up and watch the rugby ready to replace rear break pads tomorrow all in all a productive day me thinks :D

Under the bonnet today trying to see what's causing it (RRC) to smoke (White/ grey.. lots of it at tick over). Found a split in the hose from turbo to intercooler. Replaced the hose... cleaned all the pipes and hoses to and from the turbo... no sign of oil from the turbo (seals should be ok). Ran the engine (200 tdi) smoke gone :D However.... I'd had the header tank cap off whilst I was running it (had been checking the water level)...
When I put it back on the smoke reappeared  !!
Released the cap... lots of pressure.... smoke gone.... So it looks like I've got a blown head gasket :mad::mad: !!

Shut bonnet.... pull cap off beer... **** happens !!

The 90 - interiors stripped out and the roof and tub are waiting for my mate to come round tomorrow and lift it off wi me

The v8 in the disco , assertaned all 8 cylinders are firing of sorts ( laser temp probe on the manifold) but timings well off and thats why its rough looking at tdc and the disty, Turned over first kick of the key though and thats it been sat since before xmas.

Mmmmm didn't think you were supposed to put drop plates on upside down, can't remember why though, maybe the clue is in the name "drop plate"

Technically it's not upside down its higher up! It's still fully braced plus its a commercial so doesn't need to be type approved!

Used mine to tow the wifes car out of our driveway (which is about 25 meters long) so she could go off to work. At one point I looked out of the rear view mirror to see she still had the brakes on and all four wheels were locked up as she was being dragged along the driveway. Her low profile tires are useless in the snow.
