I have been trying to sort out my brake problem. The back near side was locking before the other brakes which has resulted in the tyre wearing out more than the others. I have sorted that one out by adjusting the brake seating on the rear drums. Now the front off side locks before the rest of them. The disc's have plenty of meat on them. All seem to be seated correctly. Bleed the system but I still get one front locking up before the other.

Check your wheel bearings, check pistons are free in the callipers, the one that is slow to lock up might be stiff or seized.

Bled the brakes on my 1999 TD5 disco,Removed the top to get ready to add some brake fluid,The yellow plastic filter was black and filthy,Cleaned that then got my mate to pump pedal while i undid and tightened the nipples,Second time round and i had clean fluid coming through to the container.I bought the one man bleed kit from Halfords £5.99 and a 1ltr bottle of dot4 from GSF £5.50.

Done a couple of cheeky little lanes near Brodsworth, very, very scratchy though ...

Replaced fuel filter, air filter and going to do the sedimenter later on .. ;)

A few more 'tweaks' today:

1. New pedal rubbers fitted.
2. New rear view mirror fitted.
3. Cubby box locker light fitted.
4. Purchased a 27mm wheel brace.
5. 1.5 litres of anti-freeze.
6. New number plates with private reg.
7. Replaced blown rear brake light bulb (again).

Took her for her annual health check, which she passed with a few expected advisories for various brake pipes which were expected and slight play in a rear radius arm bush (not expected.) Pipes will be done this week-end, bushes now on order and will be replaced a.s.a.p. So I'm a happy chappy.

I just want the extra space .. and as the kids are now 17 and 20 they're a bit big to fit in the back .. I'm 5'4" short, they're both 6'+ !!!!
