The 'tyre place' fitted my winter tyres and wheels on for me today. I had booked it all in advance and had taken the wheels to them a few weeks ago, so it was a very quick job.

Thanks to all the people who offered advice to me a couple of months ago about which tyres to go for - it was acted upon!

Got my car back from the garage as they were giving a good going over, all new oils and fluids, filters, fan belt, hubs all greased and all that jazz.

Completely surprised at what a massive difference it has made, everything feels so much lighter and more responsive, it must have been long overdue.

Today I cut off the rear nearside outrigger from my project S3 and welded the new one on. I then cut off the body support bracket, cleaned it up then welded it on to the top of it. Welds all dressed up. Then cut out the rusty bits on the rear nearside of the chassis, ready to weld new metal and box it in like I done on the other side. To ensure the outrigger bracket that supports the rear tub fits correctly, I had fitted a long bit of angle iron, which I bolted to the brackets on either side and spot welded it to the centre supports. Body should fit without too much hassle, I hope.

installed a cabin light in the bobtail, and insert decibel insert...still sounds good but much less like a diesel when it's on idle now. Ready to break it at Tong next weekend. Happy days :)

Fitted the Raptor dash cover and a LED internal light.

Yesterday I used mine for two jobs at work. The first being retreiving a mondeo with a burnt out clutch from down the bottom of a long, steep, slippery driveway, The second was a mercedes which had come off the road and into a ditch.

Today I had to jump in it twice again. The first was a citroen piccasso that had taken a wrong turn down a steel bridlepath, The second was retrieving a stolen 4x4 in a field.

It's a td5 dash with a Raptor fasia on the console. If you contact Phil Raptor at Raptor engineering he'll prity much make you what ever you want. Mine cost £42.

No spam intended but it is a quality part at a good price.

And looks the dog's nads!!
