Further update, the saga continues...... stat replaced, along with new pressure cap as a precaution. Car runs for 2 hours in yard without a problem, no overheating, no excess pressure, no leaks. Mechanic takes it out for 1/2 hour, again no problems. I take it home, I take it out that night for about 2 hours again no problem.Update! the story gets weirder. Can't find any evidence of head leak! They're wondering if the stats jammed, backing everything up and temp/pressure is forcing water out the relief valve. I'll be ****ed off if it is the stat, I've already replaced it twice in the last 18 months. We'll see what happens once they've done it
