Replaced axles with 4.7 ratio units all new bushes except one radius arm (will do another day). I now have a defender salisbury 4.7:1 rear and a 4.7:1 front 10 spline (weak Weak diff). Rear propshaft has a knackared UJ needs rpelacing so only FWD tried new ratio turning the 90 around and low ratio is Looooverly and low just what I want for chaplegate! I need to finish it off to test how low high range is EEK! My maths should work out not too bad. I need to save some pennies for Ashcroft front shafts and look at a front 4 pin unit/quaiffe (and pay off my credit card cos its getting stoopid OOPS)!

Anyone need any LR bits?

Quite a bit reciently:
Two weeks ago after smashing the wings and bonnet on some trees ending up stripping down the front end, removing the side skirts and interior. Welding up all the holes in the body and rust proofing most the body inside and out using POR-15. Also fitted my new diff guards.
Yesterday stripped down and removed the drivers side swivel ball as its managed to drain the diff.
Todays task is to strip down the other hub ready to re-build both sides on wednesday when the new parts turn up.

Buckshot where did you get that snazzy notebook and gps setup from?

Made and fitted a rear shelf above the rear door for small stuff like cups, tea, coffee, sugar, gas n bits n bobs, so wherever i go i can have a cuppa :D I used a length of 4x1 and a bit of ply and stuck it in place with silicone.

Also removed front middle seat and fitted a pair of mordaunt short speakers in there, will need to work on it abit more and it sounds poo atm. Bonus is the dog can sit in the middle now and lay down on the wifes lap when we're out and i can drop all my **** in the space left by the seat space ;)

booked mine into Dakar4x4 for a transmission fluid and filter change...

Yes, I know, I should do it myself but its the Butler's week off and I don't have the time....!

Oh and got me labourer to paint the outer sills and OS inner wing what I let him weld up tuther week :D

and fitted the light bar and lights what I pikied off his disco when he weren't looking. :D :D

yer can start on Bazz's now that fell to pieces at weekend

Yesterday got the truck back on its wheels with new swival balls both sides, took it for a test drive only to discover that the osf brake caliper is gushing fluid.
Took the caliper apart to find that one of my new pistons is leaking. On closer inspection seems its been damaged by grit.
Sanded it down as best i could, cleaned the seal and put it back together.
About to go re-fit it and see if its worked.

Re-fitted my caliper yesterday, bled the system and it still leaks.
Took it off again today and noticed pistons on one side stick out a bit further, so swapped the offendng piston over to the other side in the hope that the scratched part is now outside the seal.
If not it'll new seals and piston monday. :(

Fittd the heater direction control cable in the in-laws TD5 , so that was a dash out job , and gave it an engine service ( what a pain in the ass geting that oil filter off tho - what a crap place to put it ........ ) .

Fitted my 2" lift kit to my 90, terrafirma springs and shocks, new HD turrets and spring cups. i think my old set up was saggy as the lift is more like 4" and only went for the medium setup

made up some spacer blocks out of some 10mm plate (x2) to go under the rear spring seats to level up the suspention (new 2"+ fitted on the front) the rear are 2" hd but about 3 years old worked a treat
