decided that i couldn't put up with the transmission shunt anymore on my 110, so out came transfer box to inspect the the transfer gear - worn shaft aswell gear ( new cross drilled when i built the 110 last year). Took gearbox out and stripped off rear of casing as i was told ages ago that the r380 Disco box could be converted to take Defender gear stick - bollix. So instead of stripping 2 boxes to make 1 good one i am having a spigot shaft made up to take the Defender gearchange quadrant - should be ready for me to collect in the morning so all being well will be back on the road tomorrow afternoon ( have a new x drilled transfer gear in stock). Then I shall rebuild the Defender 380 at a later date and in the meantime get a new quadrant for it, be handy having this spigot as it means that I can easily fit a Disco box again if i sell my 380 box

had 45 mins poke round my new project, has a flat spot and stromberg carbs. Swapped leads from my 110.
had carb diaphragms out and they look in good condition.

Next thing will be a compression test and fuel flow after checking fuel filter- when I get a spare hour.

finally got round to sorting my diff lock. Was badly seized but after removing the centre console and many persuasive hits with a blunt instrument I filled the box with oil and it works nicely now.

Thanks to those who have written threads on this in the past was a big help :)

Went to take mine for its mot at 3pm.....2.30 get in it put key in.....fookin steering lock wouldn't come off so the key wouldnt turn....eventually get it sorted. Leave for mot. Stop for fuel on the way. Key works fine. Get to mot early so turn car off. Guess what Steerin locks back on key won't turn. Eventually get it of again. Now have a blister on me finger from trying to turn key but I also have a new mot.

fitted my modified Disco r380 box into my 110 along with a new x drilled transfer gear and new seals in the transfer box - took it up some very steep hills to make sure low box stays in !!!!

Just need to finish interior light Stereo Rock Sliders and de-rot doors.

A land rovers work is never done.

Thats why we love them.

Replaced the crappy oldfashioned fuse boxes on the 110 with a discovery blade type fuse box....lecktrickery all works now without wiggling fooses

Replace fuel, air & oil filters today, cleaned out sedimenter & replaced wiper blades. My wife has done a fantastic job of valeting the interior. Took it out after all that & now have a grinding coming from one of the brakes, oh deep joy :frusty:
