that means that I can undo the bolt from underneath?... thing is there isnt enough room to put a socket on the bolt underneath as there's a plate there, to which the tree sliders bolt on

Fixed a puncture!

Well chuffed. Nephew to be gave me a tyre-saver kit a while ago, he'd bought it in America and never used it so gave it to me .. hoping I'd never need it ..

So I got a puncture, unintentionally, and decided to try it, nothing to lose. Slow puncture, down from 35psi to 28 psi in a week, but noticeable enough. When I traced it, soapy water all over, it was a thin, long panel pin, head under the tread so couldn't be spotted. Dug it out, used the rasp tool as per instructions.

Then used the plug and needle tool, cut the ends off and Bob's your uncle! Pumped back to 35 psi, OK at 35 after two hours so I'll leave it a couple of days as I'm not planning oin using the Disco, and see what it's like then.

So far, I is happy ... ;)

Used to have them kits over here in the sixties, aparantly the are illegal now.
Maybe I'm wrong, cant see whey they would be.:)

The kit I use is similar to use but has a kind of double arrowhead. You stretch the plug to fit it and then cut the outter arrowhead off. It has less chance of blowing out then. They're only about £25 from partco.

As I understand it they're illegal to sell in UK, I don't think they covered their use if bought abroad. Same as a lot of other stuff, can't be sold in UK but nothing to stop them being used ... and who's to know when or where it's done anyway?

i mean, i wouldn't use them on, say, a Subaru WRX for instance, but on a Landrover ... even if it's a Disco, it's not like I'm racing anyone ...

;)
