Been pottering about in Wales today. I fixed some electrical problems on my friend's Defender and got hi lights working again by cleaning the plugs that go on the back of the headlamp bulbs and bending the little tabs on the back of the headlight bulbs so they actually touch the female metal part in the plugs. Plus changed a sidelight bulb. Everything's working in time for his MOT.
Then we went on a drive around the hills in the rain. Over the hills to Aberystwyth in the rain. On a tiny mountain road from Nant Y Moch reservoir to Tal Y Bont we encountered hundreds of little Honda cars all on their way up the hill. Every time we thought they had finished going past we had to pull in to let some more by. S2000s, I think they were. Some of the puddles on the mountain road would be up above their door bottoms, so I wonder how they got on. Registration plates from most of the nations in Europe as well as UK ones. Then in Tal Y Bont we met a load of Series 2 Land Rovers on their way up the mountain too. Some of them had roll cages and others had a lovely mossy patina. Then there were more Hondas. It looked like everybody had stopped in Tal Y Bont for lunch, which must have filled the coffers of the Black Lion and White Lion pubs very nicely.
