New prop shaft u/j's. Boo ya. Nae more vibrations. In need of new front prop though. Bit of play in slider, what is the life span of a prop? Never had to buy a new one before, always kept em well lubed.
 
Put the floor back in ( shiny new bolts ), and took overdrive for test run. Works great[emoji3][emoji3]. Was worried about the clattering in the release bearing area. Panicked. Panicked some more and then realised I'd dropped the old water temperature sender down back of the engine. Took a while to fish it out but…. No noise anymore. Brakes adjusted. A little better but will definitely change fluid soon. Also fitted new drivers door seal.
 
Got my new wheels and tyres so will be fitting them later.



If anyone has not seen the difference between 265/75/16 and 7.5x16 see pic. The new ones are on 16x8 deep dish (ET-35) modulars, the old are 16x7 modulars so I hope to pop them on, no reduction is steering lock, but will protrude 3 to 4cm.

Do they rub on the chassis on full lock without spacers?
 
I've got 265 x 75s on a non-lifted defender on boost wheels and no spacers and nothing seems to foul the chassis or the bodywork. So it's perfectly possible.
 
All done and obligatory test drive completed. There is no rubbing on full lock, seems to be less sway on the bends due to the wider stance, and *cough* barely any arch protrusion.

I got these from tyres direct in luton delivered for a great all in price and fitted them myself this morning in about an hour including making tea and using my late father's screw jack which was really nice way to remember him.

Went looking for tin worm today and found loads of it.But the chassis and running gear are great so I'm looking for another body for it,but not necessarily a discovery.Might go 100" defender.
 
Managed to sort dodgy rear indicator by stripping and cleaning all connections, then got the grease gun and popped some grease into everything with a nipple :)
Got landy on ramps and cleaned the sump up ,found at least four bolts that needed nipping up.Then fitted new steering damper and a new exhaust hanger......busy afternoon

I've driven it to Chatsworth House near Matlock with my God-children. They seemed to enjoy the visit. Lots of Land Rovers out and about today in the spring sunshine, so lots of waving opportunities.
 
Just finished the MOT work doing the brakes.....

But the eezibleed broke so I've bled them as best I can but will need to re-bleed them tomorrow after I've picked up another.

Nice new discs and callipers. I noticed that once I'd freed up my rear bakes with new seals and pistons the front wheels were less likely to lock under heavy braking. So you might notice some handling improvements.
