Washed it ...

Well, technically the rain washed it. ..

Well, when I say washed, some mud trickled away, despite it being a feckin' downpour!

Round trip from East Suffolk to Sheffield with one stop home at the OK diner on at A1 and all on under 3/4 tank. Not bad lol.

What did you do in the afternoons? ;)

Fitted a new door lock, courtesy of a real Landy Gentleman, who sent me one through the post!

There are some wonderful people out there!! :D:D:D

checked over the recon turbo I picked up at the newbury sortout...

removed the egr and cleaned up the threads...... shortened a couple of bzp to suit then afterwards fitted the blanking plate

cut to length and fitted braided fuel hoses all round....

finished the galv battery clamps and wired in the new solenoid for the aux battery

started stripping the half rear door ready to replace the outer panels in the thick ally plate I salvaged... far easier than sand fill n repair... :)

cheers steve

Yesterday fitted some old boot rams, one off a citroen c3 for the rear door and a vitara rear door strut on the bonnet, could do with one on either side to get it to lift.

Foot to the floor drive 3 power switch and let the quad cam sing and the fuel gauge drop

Why is she in the garage?

Loss of power doesn't pull up hills too well at all! Saying engine is breathing heavy n it's down to being worn but I need a compression test doing on her to see if it's worn rings n they only have a tester for petrol engines, so now gotta find someone who is reasonably priced in West yorks to do one for me :)

Oh n the steering was shagged so having that sorted but luckily got most of the parts to rectify that lol

Not happy only had engine put in 3 years ago but people tell fibs I suppose about mileage on em!

Is it red?

Took the winch off to have a look-see as it stopped free-spooling .. no feckin' oil in it, just mud!

OK, so Warn aren't the best sealed gearboxes, the seal (which isn't a seal) between drum and box for instance, and the engagement lever, but FFS ... looks like it may need a strip every time to keep it in good fettle. Would have been way better with a bearing rather than a Nylon bush, IMHO.

This time I'm trying ATF, which seems fine in a manual gearbox so should be OK in this application. Motor end was OK, not great, but OK, just a bit dirtier than when it was put together .. more external sealant added!

For such a well known and well regarded brand it's disappointing. The parts themselves are excellent quality, showing very little wear, but the operation of the drum, brake and engagement/freespool is a bit clunky to say the least! Might be OK in dry countries but not so good in UK.

See what it's like after next time out.

How far are you from Shipley? If you are close enough you could send Nrgserve a PM ... He's a good lad and might be able to help you out ;);)
