What have you done to your Landie today.

Went for a drive around the island yesterday. Had a mosey around the needles batteries and then finished off the day with scampi and chips from my favourite chippy whilst watching the sun go down.

The two new prop yokes, nuts & bolts fo the 200tdi failed to arrive from Paddocks. Despite the pouring rain (and having a cold) rashly decided to remove the front prop, in the hope the courier would eventually show up. It was the first time I've ever done this job & mostly it were a pain in the ass. To cut a long & very wet story short, the courier was a no show & we cannibalised a 300tdi prop (spare from a friends defender 300tdi conversion) Anyway, no more strange squealing noises & no more vibration. Celebrated by driving a mountain trail on the way home.

Nice photo, I would be proud to have taken it :)

fit one to ya landy-I seen a couple that can be bolted to the front bumper or inside the rear door.

I was thinking about doing that when I get it back though I was gonna use the tailgate instead. Just drill three holes, sleeve them with something and then used decent bolts with wingnuts for whenever I wanna mount the vice. That way it'll be easily removable

used a can and half of shutz on rear wheel arches, chassis and sills, till I run out,
so then had fun and games trying to change my front shocks.
eventualy done the front offside one complete, left the tools for the job under the seats for tomorrow (possably) to change other side front shockabsorber,
then buy/use another can of shutz for whats not been done yet.
weather and mrs permitting :(

had lots of trouble holding the old shock to undo the bottom nut,
eventualy made a spike/pointed bar about 17mm dia, and 12 inches long,
smashed through the old shocker, then held that in a lump of tube, and used a spanner, and another lump of tube to undo the bottom nut.
if I can find my air chisel !! I will try splitting the nut that way if its a bit of a bitch to undo on other side..

oh well, it was well sunny.... :)
