What have you done to your Freelander today

Back on the road again,fitted my new Pierbugh fuel pump & a n/s heated door mirror glass as I noticed it wasn't defrosting.
Ordered the pump from buyparts.co.uk thinking it would arrive next day (or two) but the thing come from the EU so it took 4 days, just as well I don't need the FL for work.
So if anyone was thinking of using them just beware if you need your bit(s) in a hurry you might be waiting longer than you hoped.
 
fresh mot on this one (yesterday) and some fully synthetic 5w40 oil change. Two advisories, brake pipes greased, bastard did not want to skip that although they know me as I maintain my car just next to the station and borrowing heavy tools from there everyday.

Week 3 of the McGuires "Ultimate Black" bumper test and my initial enthusiasm is washing off as quickly as the product is from the bumpers. At the front particularly, it is starting to streak off and is now looking unsightly. I had hoped for better than just a couple of weeks! :(

To be fair to the product, the bumpers were already in a pretty poor state and I had not prepared them in any way before applying it.

Should I:
(a) re-apply a second coat of the McGuires "Ultimate Black" to the bumpers to see whether a second application will last longer or;
(b) wait for the stuff to be washed off complete and try the next product?

If the first coat washed off then you would eggspect the second coat to do the same. If it were me I would try something else.

Was yesterday actually. I finally got to finish painting the replacement bumper corner for my Tonga green 1.8 XEi project.
Here's the trial fitting it, and checking for colour match, which is acceptable this time.

Someone in the past has painted the back bumper and rear door mouldings on my motor. Even when I got it the paint was cracking/peeling and it looks terrible.

I think the car might have had a whack at some point and the painting was done as part of the repairs. There's some gouges exposed where the paints come off and I recon they were filled and painted. Edit : both of which have fallen off!

a bit miffed as tester noticed roughness on the n.s.susp.top mount bearing ..
that bearing .. were noted last year at the dealership mot .. and supposedly a new bearing fitted
while it were in for lots of other work early this year ..
( have i been charged for work not done 'n a part not replaced ???

lol, I did 2 runs of garden stuff down the tip at the weekend. To tight to hire a trailer. 1st run was ivy and a tree I cut down/up squashed in - to the point of closing the door with the window down then squashing as much in as I could before poking sticks between the door and top door/roof frame to keep the bits in so I could shut the window. 2nd run was 3 'wool sacks' full of garden **** that had been sitting around fermenting for months together with other bags of *** to fill the gaps. Ooow there was some orible stuff leaked out those sacks!

Mrs Grumpy is now paranoid to drive the car for fear of being attacked by spiders. Sort of takes her mind off the pong :D

I've never used any sort of product on my bumpers, just a good old karcher pressure washer. I use the lance with the wet end about 2 inches from the bumper plastic and go over it slowly. You can see the colour change from light grey to dark grey immediately, and it lasts several weeks. Works wonders and even works well on the hardtop too.

I'll add pics when it comes back from its MOT.

I'd give that a go, except that I don't have a water supply to the front of the house. Perhaps I should put one of those pressure washers that can take a water supply from a bucket on my Xmas wish-list?
