Sorry to hear of yer loss. Will you be getting another FL?

Unfortunately not, I’ve got 3 kids now and got fed up with the ongoing choice of being able to take out the (admittantly large) pushchair OR the very large dog. Also not being able to take any extra passengers

Brought a Mercedes Vito sport with 6 seats, enough space behind the second row for a builders bag so should be able to fit anything in that I want. The rear seats recline so the kids won’t moan on long journeys. MPG is about the same. Insurance is cheaper and I didn’t really take the last one off road.

I still have my original L series that one day I will get back together again!!

Today I tried in vain to fix the gearbox issue, although it behaved itself, again.

I removed my lovely Sport wheels from it and refitted the original 16" Freedom wheels.

I then took a few pictures and listed it for sale on Ebay. :(

All good things come to an end Nodge. Don't feel too bad, you've given it a good home for all these years. It's now time to move on.

How's the 1.8 coming on?

That's very true Ali.

I'm more frustrated that I've been unable to fix the problem. The lack of a diagnostic device that reads the TCM error codes doesn't help.:(

Because I can't fix it, I'm going to take a large hit on its selling price, which is just painful, as me not fixing it.

It's now time to move on.
I know. It's been a turbulent relationship with this TD4.

It's sitting on my plot, waiting for me to have the time and space to get it going. It's currently got a 20 Watt solar panel sitting on the dash, and a PWM5 through hole keeping the battery charging, as it was going flat after a couple weeks.

I'm planning on bashing it back into shape (literally for the tow hoop:eek:),

fixing the damaged bumpers, and preparing it for it's MOT over the coming weeks.

Yes, at 200 notes it looked like a potential but it's gone up too high now. Would've considered if you wanted panels. Must be going colour blind!! Vehicle is 15 miles from me. If you ever see anything this way that you want shout as I have lots of space. :)

That's for the offer Andy. :)
It's just gone for £333. I did bid to £300, as it's not worth much more, and I'd still have to pay to have it collected. Shame as it was a good source of a gearbox for mine, and a nice interior for for my 1.8 XEi.
I'll keep a look out for an HSE interior for the 1.8, although I'm sorted for the bumpers now. Hopefully it'll be on the road soon, once I've done a full service on it, and it's wearing my Sport wheels.:)

Shame as it was a good source of a gearbox for mine,

Have you considered a Testbook reading session at a dealer? Maybe if it is a mechanical rather than electrical problem ( and I think you've eliminated those!) it wouldn't show up on diagnostics anyway?

My local LR stealer isn't interested in putting it on Textbook. They even claimed they no longer have the T4 equipment. I did think about spending out on a Hawkeye Total, but it's not worth it for the little use I give it.

I have considered a possible hardware fault with the gearbox, however after I changed the solenoids, the gearbox behaved perfectly for 3 months, which included some very long drives, where the fault would have appeared.
I'm almost convinced that it's a wiring fault, however I just can't find it. I'm going to try cleaning the barrel connections again, as those were all disconnected when I did the solenoids.

Otherwise I'm just going to sell it for as much as I can get, which is a shame, but needs must and I need the space for my 1.8.

Would it be a big job to convert it to manual?

Just a thought.

Repaired the HDC wiring at the switch plug - again. Refitted the rear /muffler protection plate and made & fitted a bracket for an under bonnet water reservoir for water. Vacuumed it out and dusted the interior as well. inside is quite respectable now.

It's possible to change it to a manual, but it's a lot of work.

I'm going to give it wiring another go, then throw in the towel on it.

Shame really, as if I could get it reliable, I'd probably keep it and sell the 1.8 in stead.

Start a new fred in ere asking for anyone with a hawkeye down by you in the title. More peeps will notice it. Also put one in the disco section as they're popular in there. Yer 5 hours drive each way from me but if yer travel to say london once a month that will open up more options to thems in london or on the way. Also have a look on the lzir map as some list diagnostic options they have.

If they have the original hawkeye like mine it will need the FL1 license. If its a hawkeye total it will be open license for all. Same for the hawkeye pro version I think.

The hawkeye is stopping so bearmach have put the price up.

It would only cost a few quid each way to post it.

If you fancy doing that @Nodge68 I'd share the cost with you. I could do with a fob programming. It would be a shame for you to lose quite a bit on the TD4. Definitely worth a go at reading the gearbox I'd say. On another note @Nodge68 , can you retro fit cruise on the 1.8?
