What have you done to your Freelander today

I was under the impression the grooves were designed to vent stuff out, not draw it in! I don't know why they have holes.

The groves spiral outwards when driving forward. The groves strip gasses and dust from the pad surface, helping to maintain bite.
The holes allow air to be transferred through the friction surface to the vents, helping to keep the rotor temperature down, but to be honest, this isn't a problem for the Freelander. After loads of testing and heavy braking, my thermal imaging camera never showed a rotor temp exceed 200°C, which is well within the normal temp for rotors, and actually a bit low for performance pads to work correctly.

Ebc pads yellow
And the M tec discs
They aren’t exactly quite when you brake 🤨
They buzz under moderate braking. I always fit them to our VW or Audi vehicles. M Tech rotors are OK.

Topped power steering reservoir up on FL2 a week ago
Not used it until today
Fluid now on minimum with no visible leaks
Must be dripping into the undertray from somewhere

Anyone want a cheap FL2 ffs :(
Check for rust holes where the flexy hoses join to the rack, which is a common failure point8. These are visible through the RH wheel arch.
