What have you done to your Freelander today

Replaced the front struts and solved the front suspension knocking noise.

Also put in 2 new front driveshafts while the front end was in bits, and installed the VCU from Freelander Specialists. They put their diag machine on the car and cleared the HDC fault, so have that back and working now as well.

So, back in 4WD mode, with quiet front suspension and no warning lights - bliss.

Despite being out in the cold under the car for too many hours today, I reckon it was worth it. Did a 15 mile test drive and the car drives very very nicely now.

Good news mate

Didn't quite finish all of the planned Freelander stuff yesterday, so...

Today, my ebay special 25 quid leather steering wheel went on as the original plastic one was a bit worn out. Quite pleased with it actually. The fabric seats are in good nick, so not sure about whether to get a set of leather seats.

When I get to it, the OS top engine mount needs to be replaced as well. Have the part but in the cold, could not be a#*ed to pull the undertray off to support the engine so that I could change it!!!

And... having previously put household gutter sealant around the rear lights, rear door seal, and along the gutter over the rear door, the boot cubby hole carpet is now officially dry :D

Gave it a quick hoover, put all my work gear in it and snapped up a roof rail within minute of going on ebay
Also checked the VCU and it's fine
That is a load of my mind

Fitted new prop shaft u/j ,fuel tank filler pipe, o/s/f lower suspension arm ,both track rod ends, both front anti roll bar links , o/s/f wheel bearing .Just need to change the diff mounts and n/s hand brake cables.
Just glad the list is getting smaller :)

Swapped a coil pack on a cylinder that was misfiring. Still misfiring but doesn't seem quite as bad. Replacement plug lead arrives tomorrow (they forgot to send it!). Will probably order a complete set of new coil packs as well, to be sure.

£360 mate. Took just under 5 hours. They would of taken me into Durham and picked me up again if my mate hadn't wasn't able to. I found them very knowledgable and friendly.

Tx, Sounds good to me. Have a similar price from Mr Clutch, just not sure if they the right people for the job. I'll have a have a ring around local 4x4 inde's near me.

Today, I was greatful the ABS works well and had the chance to use the HDC properly on an semi icy hill for the first time. When it's good it's good.
