Had the clutch and crankshaft seal changed.
Had the clutch and crankshaft seal changed.
got very very muddy, jet wash in the morning .........
Replaced the front struts and solved the front suspension knocking noise.
Also put in 2 new front driveshafts while the front end was in bits, and installed the VCU from Freelander Specialists. They put their diag machine on the car and cleared the HDC fault, so have that back and working now as well.
So, back in 4WD mode, with quiet front suspension and no warning lights - bliss.
Despite being out in the cold under the car for too many hours today, I reckon it was worth it. Did a 15 mile test drive and the car drives very very nicely now.
No, Durham 4x4. Cheaper than Mr clutch, not much good for you though unless your up this way.
Do you mind me asking how much the job cost?
£360 mate. Took just under 5 hours. They would of taken me into Durham and picked me up again if my mate hadn't wasn't able to. I found them very knowledgable and friendly.
Today, I was greatful the ABS works well and had the chance to use the HDC properly on an semi icy hill for the first time. When it's good it's good.
