What have you done to your Freelander today

Good news and bad news (again).

Good, fitted the new aerial base, inspection cover (Yes, M6 bolts..) and a new window regulator. Changed over the motor, works perfectly, I now have 2 windows working, driver and rear.. ;)

Bad.
Heard a noise from the engine, undid the bolts to the cam belt, and lord and behold, the tensioner has packed up and the belt is half the size it should be.
Towed it up to the guy who changed it a month ago for yet another repair..
I simply don't have the time to change it again myself these days. :(

Pictures, or it did not happen..:

The head seems alright though, good to know my "driving old english cars ears" still work..

How the hell do you do up that centre screw on the upper lights?????

the hole in the bracket is a bit wider than the screw's thread, so the middle one is screwed in first and then the guard slides a couple of mm down, besides they are Torx so the tool can be a bit "off-alignment" and still turn the screw.

Bought a new key from LR as my old one was very worn and the spare was bent . A huge £94 but at least I can start the Freelander as the old one would occasionally lock and not turn .

Well caught! I wish I hadn't tried to drive mine to safety when I heard a funny noise :(

Finally changed the crankcase filter on the td4. Starting to look at egr blanks but not sure which one to get

I replaced the leaking sunroof today, the one screw/bolt was a nightmare of a job to get out. I will be sorting out the drain tube properly tomorrow hopefully the weather will be on our side for a few hours Arctic2

How did ya mount the screem htr that looks good

Cabling up the A pillar [a bit fiddly] and across to the interior light. Local earth and a 12v supply run there as well. Fit a local inline fuse where the 12v feed is attached [likely the lighter socket]. Screen cable fits beneath light fitting easily. Place to clear passenger's sun visor and not block rear view mirror - it does a wee bit. 2 x cross head self tapping screws [black 12mm]. Done Screen is a 3.5" one. My Car DVR cam' is behind that screen and can connect to it via its second RCA input :) = all very discreet.

I was a mystified by sunroof this morning.

Okay, I got wet. Reversed off the drive and got a face full of water. Must be from the sunroof.

All looks okay. I'll have a closer look tomorrow. Maybe the drain tubes are blocked or something like that.

What is the best way to unblock the tubes?

I will be finding that out tomorrow :D looks like you have to remove the windscreen side A-pillar panels and the tubes should be behind there ?leading off the corner holes as shown just about in the pics below, i am in hope it will not be as bad as when I had to do my R75 Tourer link below

I looked at my sunroof. It seems fine, but the seal around it was green. Moss like. So I attempted to wipe it clean. Gave up when the rain came.

I then got the pressure washer out and power washed the underside after last weekends off-road trip. It was covered in mud and grass.

After de mossing the drive I then put on my winter wheels. My 16" wheels weigh less than my 17" ones. Feels quite a big difference. Finished in the dark.

The tyres are 215/70 R16 on Land Rover wheels.
I'll take some photos when it is light.
