There's no filter with the BMW part, thats the whole point of it, just a plastic piece and a couple of seals with an O ring

In road use, I've found that my L Series performs almost exactly the same in 2WD as 4WD. Wheel spin basically non-existant and no electronic kick in from TC.

Its only when I take it places that a 2WD car shouldn't go that the TC lights up!

This was my concern too as im not the main driver of this vehicle, but took it for a thrash and these were my exoeriences

2. Handlings not much different, in fact feels better around corners.
3. No scrabbling of wheels but it is an auto box, so wheel spins are out of the question:( , and I have 3 amigos at present so cant comment on the tc, will have to test it in the wet.

Ah, okay. I was driving a 1.8 manual in 2wd mode in cold and wet weather, which probably explains it, as it has much more power than the L series and the damp & wet conditions made it more frisky.

By comparison, my TD4 was planted, secure and no wheelspin. I've only had wheel spin in it on snow/mud, unlike the 2wd 1.8 manual where I was getting wheel spin all the time.

Wheel spin is a real problem for the V6!! Extreme care is required at junctions

Greased the sunroof as much as I could without taking the headlining out.

Other than that, I am sitting in it as these is the only place I have found near our cottage that has internet :D

Hi all. Collected from the garage this morning after yesterday's MOT. Passed with no advisories.

Very pleased.

Will treat her to a good wash and polish tomorrow.

Hope everyone else having a good day.

Drove from Seaford to Failsworth in just under 4 hours early this morning.
Car did approx 29mpg at a steady 90mph.
I should have gone slower but I was eager to get there!!
Will try to stick to a steady 70mph in the way home!!

Drove it around looking for a scrap yard with a freelander in ..... No luck, tried to see if I took apart the door actuator if I could see why is isn't unlocking with the remote..... When I out it all back in the knob doesn't go down any more!!

And still doesn't unlock

I know diff oil smells, but what came out smelt like a rotten eggy fart with a hint of bins. ;) :what:

Found out after work that the spare wheel doesn't fit. (Looks the same just won't fit for with enough thread showing)

Top tip make sure your spare wheel actually fits
