What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Test fit the roof today. Great to see the final shape. The sides are having a pair of windows fitted to the front so at least some of those dents will go.

Started making some seat risers today. I’ve the old style seat frames and seat box so the MUD ones don’t fit hence the DIY approach.
Have to say though, MUD were most helpful on the phone.

Progress so far. +30mm lift and I’ll make it so I can move the rails back too, although with the bulkhead still in, that’ll be a limitation.

Did the tappets on my 200Tdi last week, coming back from a supermarket trip Thursday thought I could hear one rattling.
Just checked them out and found # 6 lock nut was loose with something like 30 thou gap :eek::eek::eek::eek:
All done and dusted, road tested and everything seems fine again. This is what happens when a mate turns up half way through a job, combined with an increasingly sh1te memory.
 
More work in the seat risers today.
That extra 30mm allows the seat to go back quite a bit and at 6’4” it’s now much better.
Tomorrow I have to make a second riser as the new seats have a different fixing pattern to my ‘86 seat box.
I also stripped out the dash again for the new radio wiring and painted all the seatbelt brackets and installed them. A good LR day in Kent.

Now just got to find a relay and some connectors to light the way forward at night:D.
It had some spots on at some point and the wiring is still there so will trace that and she whats what;).

Looks smart mate I have a very similar bumper might look at a similar set up. Did you have to cut the grill at all for the winch? Think I will struggle with space but might be wrong got the winch bumper ready.

My grill is a bit busted on the bottom so I thought I may cut off 2 rows of the bottom. But upon fitting it last it slotted in with no issue.
But it’s not held by all the screws, only 4 of 8. But it’s not going to fall off;).

Removed the old rusty front bumper to fit the replacement galvy HD one. Simple job on the face of it but two of the four bolts had rusted into the captive plates underneath and sheared off.:mad: Then when I did get the bumper off, there was a hole in the front of one of the chassis legs and the other had previously been plated, and not very well too.:mad::mad::oops::oops: So I’m unable to put the new bumper on and need some welding done… :mad::oops::rolleyes:

someone remind me why we have landies… o_O
 
Woodruff key to big for the new alternator & new pulley so get the battery grinder out.
Held it with a pair of pliers & take a bit off to fit…..

well that was till it flew across the garden & now having to chop a pulley of another alternator for the old woodruff key & start again.
Job completed
 
Washed it, went for a long drive on my new suspension - not quite a magic carpet but no longer like a crate of spares.

Discovered my lovely new fuel tank is a tad higher than the old one it replaced, so consequently the seat box cover now shorts out the sender wiring with my generous rear in situ - grrrr…..
 
I have been working on the roll bar strut for my 90 hardtop to soft top conversion. Ok, I haven't actually done the fabrication, but I have been managing it :)

The roll bar from All Wheel Trim is absolute ****e...heavily distorted and the original strut didn´t align to the body work. Plus it was supposed to be bolted through the roll bar into a small plate at the end of the strut that was being held in place by 3 tack welds. So I have re-designed it whilst taking (a lot of) inspiration from Safety Devices.

Lots of bits today.
Cleaned, freed-up and greased the bonnet lock pin and adjusted the slam panel catch. Fitted the mud flaps. Fitted the front sills. Final fitted the eyebrow arches. Final fitted the front grill. Changed the gearbox and transfer box oil and sediment filter.
So no exciting photos, but lots of good stuff.
 
Went to the land rover show this weekend and decided I need to upgrade. I was going down a bigger camper route at the end of this year but don't think I could be without one! Something like yours Bukko would be lovely an extra 2 doors would very handy.
