It lives! Been out for a wet ‘n windy trundle up and down the Fosse Way doing the dutiful son thing, next best thing to a Halmatic RIB in these conditions.

Didn’t miss a beat - it’s one of the rare occasions that everything works at the same time……

Bit more work on the rusty door. Just had to bite the bullet and change most of the upright too. Still got to work out a plan for that curvy bit but I managed to save one side of it to work off so that’ll help.

Sunny afternoon on the drive….

Replaced the shredded drag link ball joint boot( how did it pass the MOT like that?…best not to ask) tightened the pitman arm nut that was unwinding, folded the lock tab over this time, that might help. Fitted a voltage meter/USB charger in place of the fag lighter, a 5 min job!

Upside of hybrid working and meetings being binned/half term. Topped off with a curry at the local.

Today was a good day.

Driven the old girl. Last night to friends for supper returning home 11.30. This morning loaded up with gardening tools and trundled over to my little blisters MIL's home to help blitz the garden. Got two waves en route on the A4 between Newbury and Kintbury. 1st from a black Defender, 2nd from some jodhpur totty in a grey Defender towing a horse box :)

Been out in the sunny fresh air digging all day. Now time for supper and a glass of red...

Out today & treated it to a full tank of fuel
Got back & spotted neighbour needed to dispose of some roof sheets damaged in the wind. Chucked it in the motor. Must arrange tip run

Removed, stripped, cleaned and rebuilt the handbrake drum assembly even though it turned out it was the cable that was partially seized.

Took out the seats and seatbox lids, still trying to figure out why my reverse light doesn’t work - gave up on that as I suspect it’s a break in the loom between switch and light (power from switch, no power at light).

Took the dashboard to bits to find a way of routing the wiring for the work light and the leads from the stereo to the cubby box sub.

Got cold, left it in a pile of bits and went to watch the rugby - always tomorrow….
