Found that the rear diff pionion iol seal is leaking. As the axle will be replaced with a disco rear axle at some point, I’ll just keep an eye on the axle oil level for now...

My new temp sender arrived from Steve Parker.:) As did my breaker bar and impact adaptor set. Mrs K noticed that I’d been shopping online... :rolleyes:o_O

Got all but three bolts off the NAS step, now stuck with three sheared in a spot with no access…..Grrrr

Got rid of the corrosion in the tub and etch primed

Got the new hinges on though, now the doors shut which is a bonus….

So we did a camping trip to test the work out we have done.. enjoyed it a little to much and have ended up with a roof tent, annex and side awning. Hoping to keep the ability to sleep inside if weather turns . Also orderded a swing away wheel carrier... spending got a bit out of hand the Defender seems to have that effect

I've been on with the scotch pad on the tar brush paint job the previous owner had spread on over the blemishes , once off I'm then bringing the paint back with the machine polisher , it's not beautiful but it's original with lashings of patina , just want to get it tidy for the moment while I aquire all the bits on the landy shopping list

Drove to Dundee and back to Glasgow, then fitted the new Momo wheel and security device. Hopefully over the next couple of days will fit the new console binnacle as old one is hanging off and cracked.

Nice wheel ... i've got a new, crinkle black, steel binnacle in the garage, was going to fit it but the plastic one I had was good so didn't.
It owes me £50. Am in Lanark

Fit a new seal. AAU3381, they are les than £5. Dead easy, it takes about 10 mins (once the prop is off)
Nice one, thanks for the advice. I’m still on the hunt for a replacement axle anyway so if I get one soon enough, I’ll strip the old axle and replace the seal and keep the diff as a spare.
