New swivel pin bearings fitted to nearside.
All 13 of the previous roller bearings recovered.
I reckon this was due to the pre-load not being high enough. I've taken a couple of wafer thin shims out and judged it by hand. Rather than my fishing scales
Refitted the turbo after taking it off and cleaning it out with brake fluid. The oil outflow pipe is a b@stard to fit and I'm certain that is the root of my turbo/oil consumption problem.
