Since sorting the dodgy wiring on the starter, I’ve been using it every day. :D Next job, cleaning it… o_O

Picked up the truck today after a series of upgrades, and had the joy of washing it ahead of the weekend.
  • Rust treatment and wax oil application
  • New door rubbers (bottom of the freshly welded doors)
  • Refurbished alloys with body colour paint
What is causing me all sorts of frustration is my inability to get the clip back in (between the door card and window winder). Job for Sunday.

My hopes for a respray have also been dashed. The local spray shop (recommended for Defenders) quoted an eye watering £10K! I'll stick with the patina look

Mrs K’s golf had a bad day at the MoT station today. The Landy fund took a hit…:(

Still, the Landy got a drive and I got a wave from the driver of a 110.

run out of fuel today on the way to work @ 05.50hrs:mad:

gauge showed the needle just below the 1/4 mark:rolleyes:

Rich.
At least you know how far you can go before it conks out. o_O
My 90’s fuel guage is erratic and I’ve learnt it does it’s own thing. As a result, I’ve become acquainted with fuel stations more frequently than I thought I would.

Now the golf had new brakes all round and a pair of rear shocks. I’m cycling to work instead of using the 90 to recoup some fuel costs.:mad:o_O

Well the alternator finally packed in!

Checked the connections; and the battery, but the voltage kept depleting (13.5 > 12 > 11.9).

Drove to the local LR specialist, and the moment I pulled in, and turned off the ignition, the battery went flat and it wouldn’t start. Counting my lucky stars I made it to the workshop in time.

Did the charging light come on?

Went to go out this morning to find a flat battery. So todays job was new socket outlet closer to the landy so I can trickle charge the battery.
Not even my jump pack wanted to help today.unsure if there is a parasitic draw or the replacement battery of just over a year ago is crap… may have to nick the old one back of the S1
Cut some wood to step the battery forward.
