currently in the garage is my buddies 30 coupe , 425 ci Buick Nailhead , 400 bhp, drum brakes and x plys all round. Im just putting the final finishers on the installation of a Winters Quick Change rear end. which required a revised rear \X member, a revised rear spring, modifications to the hairpins, hand made shock mounts and axle bracketry , longer prop, new brake pipes and a completely new boot floor .. plus a few other revisions .. .. was doing it up at his but hes short on tools and consumables so ultimately it was quicker to bring it down and do it here .. pics to follow .. This is a scary fast car , pure HOT ROD, Ive adapted it for him with electric power steering and hidden remote servo, due to a disability

Weve driven to Santa Pod , raced for the weekend and driven back without a hitch .. its also done The Bugatti club hill climb a few times and stormed along Pendine sands at 111mph not bad for a 91 year old car driving on millions of tiny marbles :)

Not long now, I have the hatches to finish, so that the cover will not droop and the steering gear to attach. Then the marquee can be removed giving room to put the trailer under the boat.

However this week no chance , from Saturday is the start of regatta week.
Saturday Two race series each of 5 to 8 starts.
Sunday 4 race series of 5,to 8 starts.
Monday to Friday 5 race series up to 8 starts in each plus two special races each lunch time and two special races each evening. The specials include thing like the serviceman's and ex serviceman's race, the juniors in fixed keel boats race etc..
Anyway I'm doing rescue boat duty for the lot...as my sailing boat isn't ready..

72 Triumph GT6, 81 Austin Mini, 94 LR disco, 95 Toyota MR2, 03 BMW Z4, 05 Eriba Troll caravan, 13 Ford Fiesta and 65 Ford Transit van.
All on the road apart from the GT6 and Mini.
 
DSC_0291.JPG A sankey 3/4 ton trailer, several part-worn xcl tyres, a pole lathe, cleaving brake, two shave horses, old merry tiller, at least three bikes, land rover rear bench seats and front centre seats (does anyone ever use them), lots of "it'll come in useful one day) stuff. Despite having 3 landies, one ornery car and two kit cars on our frontage, the double garage is taken up with the kit car I stopped work on building in about 1995 and .....you guessed it........ other junk.
Can't get a Disco in our garage, door too low.:(:(:(
