Yep, including a new earth main between starter and chassis. Most likely I mixed up some wires somewhere. Has to wait until this afternoon, back to work it is... And I mean a paid day job...
Maybe some earth issue at the coil, previousoy, there was some weird transistor ignition, and I tried to reconnect everything the way it was ehen that was removed by my mechanic. But then even that was not original, and now the fuel pump is getting power as specced, maybr I forgot the earth from the coil.

If anyone could have a look to verify, the coil is connected from the negative to the distributor AND thr chassis? If so, that might be my problem.

Not mine but a beautiful 1990 300tdi in for a front wheel bearing. The wheel is literally ready to fall off👌😎👍

I love that color!

Well, I managed to plug the trailer socket. Aparently it s too much to ask for normed cables, e.g. for standardized 13 pin sockets, to adhere to a color scheme. At least the pin usage is common between providers...

Anyway, the horn isn't working. And the intermittent beam lights aren't working anymore. Weird, the latter worked just fine yesterday. I blame a weak battery for now, fingers crossed it is that.

Regarding the hot coil wiring and non starting, I think it might be some crossed wires, most likely IMHO between ignition / starter motor and coil. I did switch the lock contacts from a steering coloumn I had lying around, I was too lazy to crimp the old one. I'll switch them back later. No way to know for sure before the new starter motor is here.

Leaves the window winders and diffs for me. Thr interior has to wait until I know the electrics are working.

My dad and his grand children did the camping interior so. Looks good, and the spare wheel has found a new place. Baby steps! 😎
