What did you do with your Range Rover today

Since I have been home (as a lot of you know I work away) it's been increasingly difficult to see out of the passenger side window due to the tinting film getting a bit bubbly and rippled as were the rest of the windows except mine. (found out that life expectancy for window film tinting is about 8 years and as I have had the beast 9 years guessing it was on the last legs) and with driving a RHD in a left hook country is a bit iffy at junctions. I found that I was lowering the long haired colonels window to see better and was getting the "look".. you all know what I mean and as it's only going to get a bit chillier here in Russia over the next few months aside from the look decided to take action. So today had all the old film removed and wow what a difference from outside the inside not so much, Never realised how much it hid the inside from the outside looking in even though it wasn't the darkest of tints. So guessing I will get it replaced. It's just amazing what you are used to as the Beast has always had it and now without looks a different car.

Mine has tint on the front door windows, presume it's legal as never mentioned at MOT. It's such a marginal tint I'm not really sure why the previous owner bothered with it

I knew it was a tint and also thought it just marginal and thought the same but now its off!! yes a big difference.
So you only have it on the front doors?? are you sure its not on the rest also?

It's on them all i think but i only mentioned the front as that's regulated on the amount of light that must pass thru

Not sure any tint is allowed on the front windows here in France, certainly if allowed it is a very light tint, there is a light transmissibility specification.

In UK i think it's minimum 75% transmission, glass with no tint can be as low as 78% to start with

First head re-checked stage 3 (no difference on retorque) and second head now up to stage 3 too.
Wifey painting rocker covers, I have rocker shafts to re-do as got the rockers swapped over by accident. Clean airbox refitted, PAS and Aircon pumps remounted. Ran out of daylight.

I remember shipping a Toyota Supra Turbo back to the UK from Florida (drove it Canon Ball Run style from Seattle to Florida in 5 days), then flew home and picked it up off ship at Southampton, drove it up M6 to Lancs with 100% blacked out from windows and US plates - Babilon gave me a few hard stares on that trip

Best yank car i ever saw over here was a classic cop car going down the M6 all lit up

I knew a guy who had his day job at the paper mill for everyday money and did mechanicking as a sideline to fund his hobby. Used to run the Artful Dodger Coronet on the UK drag scene, Mick Payne. Ton and a half of door slammer, with best times when I knew him just breaking into the mid 7 second bracket. Drained the oil and did some more engine cleaning.
Tried to sort out the non-functioning rear access. Now think it might be a wiring issue.
And also gashed the top of my head on the bottom corner of the top tailgate where it hadn't opened fully in the dark,

Basically all the brake pipes from the middle to rear are shot. OSF shield is badly corroded and is rubbing on the disc, which explains the noise and squeeking I've been getting.

Ouch, do not go to LR stealer for a quote on the brakepipes, they quoted me 1800 quid!!
They charge for about 8 hours to do the work.

Nah, using a specialist. Just waiting on their quote for the other bits too; suspension compressor, exhaust mount and the infamous p040d
