Last time i did it, sealed fine! Just put rtv as per raveYou put Hylomar Blue inboard of the bolt holes all the way around? The bolts don't tighten much so might take a little more of a nip up after the engine has cooled.
Your starting to sound like @myfirstl322 and his SUPERCHARGED when he had one.Fitted my new mud flap kit on my L405. Taking my newly refurbished 21 inch rims to have new tyres fitted later and then slow time swap them over with the off coming 21 inch plain silver rims/tyres. Not sure yet what to do with those!! keep as a spare set or sell them on to recoup some dosh back. They have new tyres on them too. Only done 250 miles. Had to ring DVLA as my logbook has still not arrived after 15 days and they said online 3-5 days so they are issuing another to me and once that arrives i can assign my private plate and start using her once all my other bits are fitted.
Still got some of my P38 stuff left to sell on. Its going slowly but i really need the floor space now i have the L405 in the cave. Its bloody big. LOL
Took the beast for a good run this morning as after I pick up the long haired colonel from her work tonight its back on the axel stands for god knows how long but its for a good reason. Finally after 7 months at home I am getting back to work. It's also a new chapter for me as its a new job and it will be my first job back in the UK for 15 years, I am a bit worried as I just don't know if i will fit in any more but i am looking forward to a pint or ten of John Smiths and to be able to make a proper sandwich. Obviously not making the sandwich's after the John Smiths. Any way i might not be around for a while but as i am billy no mates i might be,
You'll be used to the weather when you sit outside having your pints.Took the beast for a good run this morning as after I pick up the long haired colonel from her work tonight its back on the axel stands for god knows how long but its for a good reason. Mine has 5 now. LOL and i have just paid £1750 in total for 5 genuine new 21 inch diamond polished wheels, tyres and TPMS valves. Bank balance has had a real hammering this month. LOLL405 are 20% cheaper on tyres
because they only have 4
Go to work mate, do your job, go home and collect your wages each week/month. That's my motto. Fitting in is a bonus but not essential as your not living with your work pals.Took the beast for a good run this morning as after I pick up the long haired colonel from her work tonight its back on the axel stands for god knows how long but its for a good reason. God save The Queen. LOLNo patting female employees on the bottom or petting, although the male employees might like it. Wetherspoons is your venue of choice or you'll need a second job to pay for the drink. Remember to stand to attention and salute whenever Her Majesty is shown on the telly and at closedown, although you will be waiting a long while for that - enough time to slip another pint in.
I was always taught, with anything on an alloy engine, torque it up when you put it together, leave it overnight and torque it again, it'll usually go noticeably tighter. Then run it for a bit, let it cool and repeat.Last time i did it, sealed fine! Just put rtv as per rave
I'll try tightening before i go any further
Around the front of the sump?Dunno what I've done but the new sump gasket is leaking like a sieve
Around the front of the sump?
yessum.. everywhere
Only really since i took the sump off to check the big ends, will try tightening again, if not then i have a spare gasketHmm its quite common leak point, issues can range from a bad gasket especially if its a blue box special or the surface of the sump is less than stellar..
A coat of RTV on the sump side of the gasket can eliminate the leak, "can" being the operative term
Ahh so you have re used the original?Only really since i took the sump off to check the big ends, will try tightening again, if not then i have a spare gasket
