What did you do with your Range Rover today

All my items are now listed on ebay.
Owning a P38 is nothing more than a distant and bad memory to me now. Onwards and upwards from now on. No more ****er dealers to deal with now.

Sorry to hear that but horses for courses I guess. My dealer purchased 4.6 cooked itself on day 4 of my ownership, cracked block, they replaced engine and the next 4 years ran fault free until sold. Plenty of other stuff broke and was replaced, but for me that was part of the enjoyment. And now several years after selling it, from online records I see it's still passing MOTs. So some lucky git owes me a beer ;) Last few years have had a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 3.0 Merc engine, 100% reliable, fast, zero complaints. But it ain't no P38. So the next purchase will be the best one I can afford. Yes I'm an idiot and I'll still have to shell out 3k+ on fixing stuff (if lucky). But I'll enjoy it until they get banned and we're all driving twist n go battery pods.

Great engine the 3.0v6 merc unit, just keep an eye out for the black death injector seals and the valley oil cooler seals..... A lovely all day job that last one:eek:

Thanks, have had the occasional oil drip recently, good guys at local garage couldn't find the cause, but the valley sounds likely. Ive just the glow plugs, easy, and the oil+filter gets done every 6k. 110k mile on it now, touch wood all is good.

The oil runs down the valley to the bell housing and drops down to the bottom of the bell housing. It's a massive job and requires a ton of gaskets but the old eBay has a ton of kits for sale. There biggy is the airfilter gasket that can split when fitting the housing to the turbo. It can break and damage the turbo fan. Mega engine. I've another client with an E320cdi sport. 230+bhp and 45mpg on a 7spd box. I'd love that engine in the P38......

Agreed on that as my second generation Chrysler 300c SRT had the same engine in it and it was sublime to drive. I had her chipped up to just under 300BHP and she went like a rocket all the time. Lovely car too the second generation 300c cars and ultra rare too. My example was the personal car of the Chairman of Chrysler UK and i aquired it via a main dealer in Poole at 3 year old point and only 36k on the clock and full history. It was like new still. He was given a new Jeep SRT10in place of it which was a massive monster.
The chap i sold it to after 18 months still owns it now and its only got 52k on it now.

Lovely car too the second generation 300c cars and ultra rare too. My example was the personal car of the Chairman of Chrysler UK and i aquired it via a main dealer in Poole at 3 year old point and only 36k on the clock and full history. It was like new still. He was given a new Jeep SRT10in place of it which was a massive monster.
The chap i sold it to after 18 months still owns it now and its only got 52k on it now.

Very nice motor. Only real issue I've had it getting hold of spares as Jeep gets older (engine no problem), even had to order handbrake parts from the Rock Auto in the US. Mind you, delivery was amazingly rapid.
 
I'll leave that fun job to the next owner :rolleyes: I have my pink ticket to go for RR again, and currently my insane-o-meter is pegged at P38, just hoping I keep it from going off scale with an L322.

Is easy to make your mind up. Just look underneath any L322 you fancy, when you do the same with an older p38 you will notice the difference immediately
 
That's the woman's Range Rover. My sister just bought one 3 weeks ago. Each to their own i say albeit anything Victoria Beckham played a part in i would also avoid. LOL
My neighbor's grand daughter bought one. She didn't have it that long til it got stolen. Turns out one of the easiest cars to get nicked with it's useless keyless entry system

Mate of mine had a Jeep. Mega expensive on parts. Guess what he drives now, yep a RR

Yes Rock Auto's are awesome and very cheap too as well as super quick delivery. Used them many times for my old Astro dayvan which was awesome and had a OMVL - LPG kit on her.
