Just trying to decide which to take to go and have me covid jab the RR which is on drive behind posts or the bmw sitting out in the street:rolleyes:

I would be inclined to put a thin wire in position 85 in relays 4 and 5 so you can see the progression of power.with your test lamp .5 should power up when the ignition is on, this feeds the passenger side screen and relay 4 so your other wire should become live.If it does then remove relay and check resistance between 85 and earth this should check the circuit through the screen. If no live.remove fuse box tilt it up ,protecting the 3 live cables that feed the BECM,I rested it on a mat. Unplug the violet plug and check for continuity between 85 and the pin that feeds the purple light green wire..If no continuity then replace the relays switch the ignition on and with your test lamp see which pin becomes live. You may have to move the p/LG wire in the plug to the corresponding pin position.I had to do this as I found the fuse box had been changed for one of a different year. Easily done with a darning needle. Pm me if you need me to talk you through it.
thanks, may take you up on that. did some more testing on my 'spare' fusebox last night to see what goes where. think i need to take my battery off and do some loom testing and see what i find

You don't need to take the battery off as long as you put something under the fuse box to prevent it earthing the becm feeds,I used a bath mat.I know its best practice but you need to see which pin out in the violet socket becomes live when relay 5 activates relay 4. Then make sure the purple light green wire corresponds to that pin. Mine was to a blank position in the plug so moving the wire sorted it.

i'd rather be safe :)
it was working and nothing has changed as such, so wires will be in the right places
pin 86 on relay 5 connects to pin 85 on relay 4, and both relays click when the screen is 'on' and the passenger side works, in theory pulling relay 4 should affect the passenger side. pin 30 is permanently live so in my head its got to be somewhere between pin 87 on relay 4 and the screen, or the screen and earth.
i've swapped the relays in case it was clicking but not connecting, passenger side still worked OK so both relays working
i should really start a separate thread for this

New door checks, washer pumps and side indicators arrived! Just need to fit them.

If I can remember the correct order of the pumps that is as I moved things around and connectors to get it through the MOT :D

Nothing to do with your post BUT what's with the pretty orange badges? I thought the badges went away when they stopped payments and we started getting inundated with adverts?
