That is possibly because the rubber cover has split or become porous and the piston has rust on it's outer edge causing a bind. These are things you should be sorting, you can get new piston and seal sets.
 
Totally agree wammers, if I change calipers, may as well do both, will I have to do a complete bleed or just pump pedal a couple of times to bleed fluid back through, should loose minimal fluid when I clamp hose above calliper. Thanks for your advice wammers.

Clamping flexi is way to go, just need to bleed each caliper then no need to do full system.
 
Started my new commute today, which means that the Rangie will once again be a proper 'daily', rather than just pootling around a few days a week and the odd long trip at weekends. Hopefully it will be all the better for more regular use.

P38 calipers are so cheap - may as well replace 'em every 5 years!
 
Replaced the oil cooler pipes (rubber parts) by grinding off the leaking swages and re-connectoing using compression fittings and hose clips.

I appear to be oil tight again....
 
Drove it to get a wheel bearing for the VW. I then spent 3 hours getting a b'std snapped bolt out of the upright.
 
Reinflated a slow punctured tyres. Trying to work out how long I can leave it before getting it fixed.
 
Today I fixed my poor radio signal and bought a new auto gear box sump + oil + filter

I know what I'm doing on Saturday ;)

(Is it sad I can't wait?)
 
Hello Parisien,

I removed the parcel shelf plastics in the boot on the drivers side (RH) and where the radio amplifier attaches to the boot window it had corroded the actual plastic of the wire. so I cut out the damaged section and replaced with a new bit of wire using heat shrink joiners it's worked for me and I can now pick up all radio stations I want.

Also for what it's worth I'd been have battery drain issues and traced it to my radio so maybe I shouldn't be blaming the head unit maybe it was this wire all along? Tomorrow morning will tell I guess lol
