You could always stick a pin in the gauge just after normal to stop it going to "too hot"
Sounds like a dodgy sender unit switch to me mate and or a dodgy thermostat. Maybe try changing them both and give the coolant a good flush out too and see what occurs. I have read they can suffer from blocked hoses causing flow/overheating issues.problem is, its an idiot gauge that shows cold, normal, too hot, the needle doesn't move in an analogue way, it will 'jump' from normal to too hot within seconds
It sits infront of the internal temp sensor and blows the ambient air on it, help to judge the air aye!Where is it and what does it do???
i don't have overheating issues but its normal for the gauge to sit in the middle and not move over a large temp rangeSounds like a dodgy sender unit switch to me mate and or a dodgy thermostat. P38I’ve done nothing with my RR today because I don’t have one but I would like to. p38, Vogue or sport I would love to own one. Maybe Santa will deliver one soon?

is the battery good? why will it suddenly start just because your commute is shorter?Seen a belter Y reg HSE in green but until my commute drops from 500 miles a week it’s a non starter

It comes out of our 'Enery 's blind eye.what is eye air??
It Would only leakrange rovers need a pressure gauge in the dash to show pressure in the tank
at least you'd knowIt Would only leak
Maybe its a dodgy dash pod connection then or pod itself.i don't have overheating issues but its normal for the gauge to sit in the middle and not move over a large temp range
There seems to be a sudden purge of P38's coming to market these last few weeks which i have been actively watching and studying. Most are either worn out crap or over priced tarted up crap too with dealers not wanting to answer simple questions about them which just tells me they are indeed TROUBLE with high asking prices. LOL.Seen a belter Y reg HSE in green but until my commute drops from 500 miles a week it’s a non starter
its very common for modern cars to have a temp gauge that only shows cold normal and "oh ****", car manufacturers dont want customers to keep coming back ever time the gauge moves a fraction over normal, my citron van didnt even have a gauge just a red light to say when you were in the crapMaybe its a dodgy dash pod connection then or pod itself.
Have you access to a spare pod to try???
