Not necessarily as we discovered today, have a look around on today's threads, it is possible to repair sidewall damage and it's legal and everything as long as no cords were damaged, especially on more off-roady type tyres.Did some trails with my son and got a bloody side wall puncture.. A 10mm slit... That's that new tyre up the swanny!!!! Paper walls....
