I thought that, why not stretch the opening?Oh dear.

In addition my good sir, running the risk of the tool breaking in his face. That is why happy amateurs following the instructions and methods of happy amateurs bugger things up more often than not. It's laughable to use the top yolk to push against to remove the lower ball joint. The tool must be used as it is supposed to be used to avoid spreading the axle eyes.
Not criticizing your efforts BTD,I didn't say it was perfect but it shows what to expect in doing the job, as I said at least he is posting videos on common jobs on the p38, me I can't be arsed to film it edit it upload it blah blah blah.
For sure, only local to the ball joint cup.will getting heat on it be ok?
i would have thought so
Like a bigger hammer to start with. It's a piece of pi $$ with a bit of heat, cooled new ball joints and the propper tools .

That is a brilliant idea.I elongated the hole in the cv cover that the sensor fits through so that if I ever have to remove the hub the sensor can stay in place.
Only if you don't take it off road a lot, you don't want lots of sh1t getting onto the reluctor ring. That said I did mine a few years ago and do a bit of mud plugging down the farm and never had a problem. That is a brilliant idea.
Surely that qualifies as a sensible mod?
That ****ing **** John Dennis 4x4 replaced my brand new Lemforder ball joints 2 years ago with Britpart ones that have now, inevitably failed. So I need new draglink ball joints. For ****'s sake. The one time you let a so-called professional near your car and the ****wit ****s it up. I am spitting feathers. ****. And I've got a pile of jobs stacked up and no ****ing time to do anything. The car will just have to sit until I have a spare moment. More ****ing work because some **** wouldn't do as he was told.
Last shot then. Per RAVE you can replace the ball joints 3 times!
