I went to Oldham to pick up my new to me bonnet. The barsteward overheated at the end of the M60. Bloody viscous fan chucked its hand in after all the other problems I've had with it, Phoned the guy I was supposed to pick the bonnet up from ( Mark at 4×4 assist) and he said I've got a fan here, I'll come and tow you in. As it happened we fitted it at the road side then drove to his place to pick up the bonnet. What a complete gentleman and only charged humble money. He does sell on the bay but if you need anything in the M/chester/ Oldham/Bury area pm me and I'll see if he wants his number made public. It's heartwarming to meet a genuinely nice person.:D spoke to him and his number is 07971377335.

Whats the part number for the beru plug grrrrrr I have searched endlessly and get different ones from different sites cia

The part number for the Eurocarparts website is 438110135 (RR P38A, M51 engine). £16.49 each before the discount code is applied. If you haven't got a discount code, get one! Normally there's one for the weekend. Failing that ring them up and they'll sort you out. With discount they're £66 the set.

The Land Rover part number is STC3103.

On the Beru website they show as GN013. http://beru.federalmogul.com/en-gb/e-catalogue/vehicle

Someone was asking about engine temperature from the Nanocom the other day but I cannot remember who it was! Finally got on my laptop and here's a trac

Sounds like you were going to the right man at the right time, glad it was easy fix and nice to know of a helpful guy:)

Yes he was. Just to add insult to injury the heater o rings are now weeping,my own fault I've had new ones for ages, should have done them sooner. I'll do them now seeing that I've lost all the antifreeze.:)

There's always something, was it running better with all the new chains and bits.

Absolutely, with the fan replaced I kept it at a steady 65 for a couple of miles which rose to 70 and finally "more". It's hard driving with one eye on the temp gauge.;)

Well at least your driving now, I have got to wait till is see the surgeon and see what he says, great being self employed so I keep being told, not when you don't get any money for being of its not:(

Mind you had the not being able to do anything earlier in the year and worse than me, I am fit but not allowed to.

Today I put both my RRs on SORN as im going to Australia for a few months. I am flying from Briz Norton air base to the Falklands for a couple of weeks before flying on to Oz via Santago and should be there before Christmas .
Enjoy your winter here Ill probably be back in the UK about March or April.Have a good Christmas everyone and treat your Rangies to all the parts and attention they need

.

Eurocarparts Yeovil give a weekend discount, I got 6 x Bosch glow plugs for £59

After my 1400 mile round trip to France with the replacement engine and repaired cruise control I can say that it was as comfortable and effortless as the XKR round trip - slower (hahaha) but as comfortable! It's nice not getting out like you've got prop whack and need a chiropractor.
So today I topped up the coolant and oil, swapped out all 6 x glow plugs, changed all the leak off pipes, inserted an NRV, installed the missing inlet manifold to FIP pipe (that I discovered was missing). Test drove and now starts first glow plug cycle and not the third :D:D:D

Also found that I now have a tiny but messy oil leak from what appears to be the oil cooler or the connections/pipes. Always something hahahaha.

Yeah I saw them as well. I searched for the beru number and it comes up with loads at different prices for different cars. Type in range rover beru GN013 and peugeot beru GN013 and you'll see what I mean.

Started her up to go out this afternoon, had already put a bottle of injector cleaner on the back seat ready to put into the tank when I filled up later, after a couple of miles she started running rough with a lack of power, eased off and she picked up again. Fuel was my first thought (well second thought after "what the fecking hell is going wrong now") pulled over to pop the bonnet, cant see out wrong, bled a bit out of the fuel filter, seemed to be running fine.
Got to the garage 10 miles later without too much trouble, gave her a shot of injector cleaner and 3/4 a tank of diesel, still running mostly ok but with lack of top end, wont rev over 3000.
Did what we had to do and returned home carefully, mostly running well, gave her the beans just before home on a long steep hill, nearly cut out then but did start to confirm fuel starvation, to me at least. Will have a go at the fuel sedimenter tomorrow, with luck that might do it. Until I did a search didnt realise they ought to be drained every 3000 miles. DOH. :(:(

my vm's one way valve in the breather blocked up and that caused a vacuum in the tank which gave similar symptoms. Had to pressurise the tank with an airline to blow it back into shape. The breather is behind the n/s rear light cluster / rear pillar but probably the opposite as you have the handlebars on the other side. Do the filter as well.
