What did you do with your Range Rover today

Drilled out the bastard clutch housing bolt that had sheared off. Flywheel off (note the nifty flywheel locking tool courtesy of a house radiator bracket and a bolt and a few nuts plus a grinder), sump off and rocker cover off just so I can replace all gaskets. Just waiting for parts now.

Looks like gearbox is either leaking from the adapter plate or maybe the sensor thingy. New o-rings ordered for the adapter plate.

Oh, and that damn breather filter thingy off the rocker cover. Pipe has well and truly had it. Seems to be 20mm inner diameter but it will have to have a hell of a bend in it. Ideas?
thats a neat locking idea

Dont know about yours Grrrrrr but the gear change on mine was awful when I got it, had to fight it into every gear, first time I had the box off took the linkage off the top and greased it up been fine since.

You just cannot sit still can you, if it ain't broken fix it till it is.:D:D

Bloody best weather weekend this year and I'm stuck under the sluts bonnet on the drive.....I've been burnt to a fr1ggin crisp sorting both head gaskets.
But am smiling now...Allbeit with dry crispy split lips and dry eyeballs.
Enjoy the weather they said...

Was smiling until I fired her up...Ran ok for a minute, then spluttered and hydrolocked on cylinder 7..the very same reason I changed the head gaskets. Anyone seem any affordable top hat cylinder blocks around or have any suggestions ??

Most people seem to trust Turners but been a few disasters from there recently. Think decent blocks are starting to become rare.

Really? That would be good. I think the filter is probably ok as I cleaned it out with petrol a while back and it still looks clean inside. The pipe is totally shot though. Was looking online at various pipes but getting one that bends that tightly without kinking and oil proof and heat resistant is hard!

The hose you need from Land rover agents. Think you may want to try the offered S/H one. https://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-ESR4566 Also remove cover plate inside cam cover and clean out oil catcher mesh.

Drove her. Simple I know but after everything and recent battery issues again, with no obvious cause, to just get in and drive, is such a joy. I look at other 4x4s , even the same stable but, it is not envy or desire, it is just interest, at what others have or have not done to theirs. Despite all the heartache, I still love the Golden Girl. I love when, after pulling up at location, whilst talking to someone, she settled the EAS , and the person was impressed, even more so,when I showed the EAS control  It's the little things (@holidaychicken)o_O:D

Inside the cam cover secured with twelve torx bolts. Under that is the separator mesh. You can see it clearly on your seventh photo. Have you heard of specsavers? ;):D

There are bolts in there?!

Fitted & working. It was so simple... Would have been easier if both hands were fully operating, but one hand and my belly did the job :D

One thing though, cruise stopped working since I did the valve block. The rubber pipe is cracked like a smashed windscreen so I am hoping it's just that.

Question is, the cruise was working, albeit at 2mph or so below selected speed and would drop speed before banging back on. Now I am guessing the leaking hose caused the problem with the cruise, but is it vacuum operated? If so, it's highly likely this is causing my misfire too, no??

No other cause to be found o_O
