What did you do with your Range Rover today

Nothing. For probably only about the 5th day in 2 years & 2 months of ownership, she sat on the drive today and went nowhere whilst I cut the hedge, erected scaffolding and prepared to start painting the back of the house. No doubt there will be hell to pay tomorrow and she'll be sulking... Then again, she did have a trip up to Haytor for the Eclipse on Friday so perhaps she'll see it as a reward rather than neglect?

That abortion on the front and the spot lamps will be doing wonders for the airflow through the rad.

I thought that when I got her, but doesn't overheat - even when towing the boat/other cars etc and I've not got around to removing yet. There's a long list of other fixes first: Gearbox, headlining, n/s heated seat, sticky blend motors and a good service (inc diff oils, new rear callipers and a few other odds & ends) On the plus side the Wipacs chuck out a much better light out in the sticks, so I'd probably retain them anyway! Oh, and I discovered back in November that the bar & Wipacs also slow the ingress of flood water when up to the bonnet without a snorkel

Took the horsetrailer and both quarter horses out had a fine ride western style got the 2 harrows followed by a roller set up ready to clip onto rangie tomorrow. Actually think with my coil springs (525mm height) i may take the bib off the bumper quite a high chance itl scuff. father in laws rotten frontera lwb (even he hates) bellied before the rough stuff. Rangie has a lot more clearance.

Not a fan of the bullbars wammers? Id like one with spots on mine. I need a cheep set of light guards so i can copy them using steel

I was there last year and went greenlaning and showed up some of the defenders even though I didnt have mud tyres on

I've just been outside and given mine a warning.
It just glared back malevolently.

Replaced the rear Air springs. A very unpleasant job! For anyone attempting this, on mine the retaining clips had totally seized so some persuasion was the only way to get the old springs out. Also the collar on the air feed pipe had also corroded and so the only way round that was to praise it out from the original spring.

I also removed the arch liners as it gave a little extra clearance. The total job took 4 hours, about 3:30 of that was getting the old ones out and 30 minutes to get the new ones in!

Its amazing they ever worked at all!

I then gave the old horse a wash, and took her for an "enthusiastic" drive to my parents and what a treat she is now. They really are an astonishing vehicle compared to a D1 or a defender. They'll hustle down lanes and stop and steer remarkably well.

Looks good! You got your money's worth out of those springs...

They are the originals as far as I can tell, so just shy of 16 years! Although I've only had her for 18 months.

The pictures from my phone do a good job of hiding the dents and scratches that festoon her. Although I've just ordered a Canon Eos 700d which I suspect will show the warts an all!

You know what though, she was good as gold on them until one front started to leak 6 weeks ago, and then one rear gave up 2 weeks ago. Astonishing given the state of them. It would even stay at height whilst parked for a week or more until the finally gave up. It just shows how bad they can get!

I am now no longer a O ring Virgin ,
Followed Druims How To and all went well. To be fair the old ones were in pretty good shape but did notice that the screw was very easy to remove so maybe a nip up would have stopped the drip. Found it best to get the wife to pull on my pipes to make removal easier and then push on my pipes when refitting .

Casually turning a corner in town out comes a cyclist flat out down the path. Brakes on last minuite on the front wheel and went arse over tit and landed clean into the side of the rangie. Two new scratches on the side but the funniest thing iv seen in a while. you should have seen how quick he got on his bike and rode off when i asked if we was ok and proceeded to get my breaker bar out the boot

I'm knackered I washed mine treated all the plastic trims cleaned the wheels got rid of most of the old brake dust will need to do a couple again it was thick and burnt on. Treated the tyres and polished up the exhaust tips they where covered in rust spots now look nearly new. I'm happy with the outside, the inside looks good next step engine niggles then electric niggles then lpg kit all the while hiding the fuel bold from the wife lol
