What did you do with your Range Rover today

Used it today instead of the van, usual route out of town 0.7 miles 30 road then 60mph and through 40mph zone for a crossroads approx 3 miles in, normally its just above the 1/4 line by this point, then nope just out the blue zone, 8 miles later shes upto 1/4, took 15miles too warm up today,
Usually she warms up quite quick and the electric/viscous fan set up on the 4.2sc isn't sticking on
Levels good as normal and can see cooling flowing back,
Thermostat ordered,
Yes i know the gauge is just a guide and so on but you know when somthing isn't the same as it was,

Got home and got the DVM out. 13.6 V at the battery, so either the battery is dragging the lot down or the alternator isn't 100%. I guess I could swap the alternator for the one on the scrapper and see if that improves matters but it will have to wait for another day.

13.6 volts, is that with the engine running? If so it's too low, even with an early regulator your should see 13.8 volts. sounds like brushes but check the earth strap from engine to chassis. Most likely the alternator from your scrapper will need the Mobiletron regulator upgrade.

Yes, engine running at idle.

I don't know if the scrapper one had the upgrade or not. I'd need a working battery to test it! It could do with starting though so maybe I will do that first.

Changed all my interior bulbs for led. Boot light was changed last year for a powerful UK complete unit so nowt to do there. 4 x festoon in the rear roof lamps, rear footwell lamp and front roof lamp, 6 x 501 in the map lights, front footwell lights and both front door puddle lights.
@Flossie Can I ask where you got your LEDs? I got a set of LEDs from eBay & have just replaced all my interior lamps but would like some that are a bit brighter. I would also prefer a warmer colour as the ultra white LEDs I have look a bit out of place in the P38.

Argo on ebay. I confess I paid little heed to brightness I just wanted to reduce battery drain and hopefully get a bit more brightness. It's definitely brighter in there now so I'm pleased. Quality looks to be very good too and delivery was quick.
This was my order below.

Just checked my eBay history and it was too long ago for me to see the one I bought last time. Seller probably gone anyway.

Thinking about it, I would never have thrown the old one away. Just a case of finding the right box in the shed ...

Found the box. Looks like I replaced it 9 years ago with a Mobiletron VR-VW010 ... or possibly VVV010. Has another number underneath: 4 717020 225646. In theory I could just put the original gubbins back.

anyone know what the 'cassette tape' RF receiver does in the L322 tailgate? some folks seem to say its for the radio, a few say its related to the keyfob.
i've unplugged it completely and the radio (FM/DAB) still works the same, the keyfob works just fine too
i didnt check MW/LW so maybe its that

Bit of an odd one. My front screen is marked from where it's got condensation on it repeatedly while it's been off the road the last few weeks.. nothing will touch it.
I've not given it now then a wipe since it was fitted.. could it have had some thing wiped/sprayed over it during fitting? I've tried regular class cleaner and alcohol on a cloth so far.
Any ideas? It's definitely on the inside
