Have you done the regulator swap?Got home and got the DVM out. 13.6 V at the battery, so either the battery is dragging the lot down or the alternator isn't 100%. I guess I could swap the alternator for the one on the scrapper and see if that improves matters but it will have to wait for another day.
13.6 volts, is that with the engine running? If so it's too low, even with an early regulator your should see 13.8 volts. sounds like brushes but check the earth strap from engine to chassis. Most likely the alternator from your scrapper will need the Mobiletron regulator upgrade.Got home and got the DVM out. 13.6 V at the battery, so either the battery is dragging the lot down or the alternator isn't 100%. How long after it was started had you tested the battery grrrrrrrrr?Yes, engine running at idle.
I don't know if the scrapper one had the upgrade or not. I'd need a working battery to test it! It could do with starting though so maybe I will do that first.

@Flossie Can I ask where you got your LEDs? I got a set of LEDs from eBay & have just replaced all my interior lamps but would like some that are a bit brighter. I would also prefer a warmer colour as the ultra white LEDs I have look a bit out of place in the P38.Changed all my interior bulbs for led. Boot light was changed last year for a powerful UK complete unit so nowt to do there. 4 x festoon in the rear roof lamps, rear footwell lamp and front roof lamp, 6 x 501 in the map lights, front footwell lights and both front door puddle lights.
Argo on ebay. I confess I paid little heed to brightness I just wanted to reduce battery drain and hopefully get a bit more brightness. It's definitely brighter in there now so I'm pleased. Quality looks to be very good too and delivery was quick.@Flossie Can I ask where you got your LEDs? Just checked my eBay history and it was too long ago for me to see the one I bought last time. Seller probably gone anyway.
Thinking about it, I would never have thrown the old one away. Just a case of finding the right box in the shed ...
Found the box. Looks like I replaced it 9 years ago with a Mobiletron VR-VW010 ... or possibly VVV010. Has another number underneath: 4 717020 225646. In theory I could just put the original gubbins back.
VR-VW010
Direct from Mobiletron perhaps? Can't see any on eBay. Maybe they've run out!

Mine came from Ireland when I got it 3 yrs ago, can't remember if it was ulster though.I ordered one from Ulster in the end. Don't know if I need it but they seem to be getting rare so thought I had best get one in stock.
