Silly question time. What/where isnthe inverter shown as step 3?I'd go for something like this and change the ends to a cig lighter plug. Reviews are good too,

At 1.8w it would be useless. Go big or go homeSilly question time. What/where isnthe inverter shown as step 3?
For a bit thick about this type of thing person. Would this be a better type?

I meant type not size. I haven't found necessary size yet ( @Mark Piercy noooo just no!) But I was thinking it looks simpler to useAt 1.8w it would be useless. Go big or go home
About 50% more than I pay.Not bad for 100W panel with controller?
That one is not up to the job for Scotland. The 100 watt one would be perfect. It links to this but for the extra few quid I'd go for a much bigger one. As said 30w in a scottish winter probably won't cut it. 100w should charge the battery as well, allbeit slowly.

They also tend not to have any controllerAt 1.8w it would be useless. Go big or go home
Solar panels are DC so why would you need an inverter?Silly question time. What/where isnthe inverter shown as step 3?

I spent £90 on this and it was useless, but I suspect it has a faulty panel. The proper panel type are much better IMO.I meant type not size. I haven't found necessary size yet ( @Mark Piercy noooo just no!) But I was thinking it looks simpler to use
I'm guessing @gold rover means this from the one I posted. @gold rover The inverter is an additional bit of kit that gives you 240v off the battery, it's not required for charging.Solar panels are DC so why would you need an inverter?
Not a fan of anything electric that folds. A solid non flexible panel is best IMO.I spent £90 on this and it was useless, but I suspect it has a faulty panel. The proper panel type are much better IMO.

I got it to put in the windscreen on the dash but it was crap. Not a fan of anything electric that folds. A solid non flexible panel is best IMO.
My 20watt panels will stand on the dash or the rear parcel shelf for when the P38 is left in the airport parking. I always try to get the rear facing the sun as I have a dedicated socket in the boot for the panel.I got it to put in the windscreen on the dash but it was crap.
my dad keeps a 'flexi' panel in his camper, so far no issues with it, but chose mainly for weight and sizeNot a fan of anything electric that folds. A solid non flexible panel is best IMO.
Brilliant. That is the one I was referring to, and the answer I was looking for. Next question/comment. The ones that go to the cigarette lighter state to not use whilst driving. Does this type also have to have something removed before driving? Or can they stay connected with no adverse issues?I'm guessing @gold rover means this from the one I posted. @gold rover The inverter is an additional bit of kit that gives you 240v off the battery, it's not required for charging.

Otto's trailer socket appears to be wired in on crimped fittings in the right rear, below where the loom goes to the tailgate and driver side rear lamp connection. I've never needed to delve into the left trim yet. It's better to use the permanent live located behind the P38 left side trim panel for the trailer hook up, it's a proper fused supply and easily accessible. There is also a ground wire there too.
