Best to always regard half a tank as emptyI've just broke down too! Luckily, just leaving a mates house so I can sit in the warm awaiting recovery. Drove fine to here, parked up 2 hrs, went to leave, started as normal then died. Tried again, mucho cranky then fired. Reversed off his drive then died again. Air in the curly pipe, less than a 1/4 tank so suspect intank pump has died. Fuse and relay OK so called breakdown. Autoaid ....never had to use them before so God knows how swift they are. Had to pay a £25 excess cos she's over 10 yrs old or something.

Would if I had some or near a petrol station. Only put in 20ltrs yesterday and that was after the low fuel lamp came on and it was running great then. Breakdown truck still hasn't turned up. Autoaid call center have rang to ask if they have, and are going to chase them up.put more fool in?
Yeah, if topping her up gets me going I might leave pump replacement (or facet mod) until it warms up a bit.Best to always regard half a tank as empty
It was a recon Bosch pump, but clearly not done a very good job with it. Been fitted for a month. Big sad.Fitted to bix?
I'll get a vdo one or....I might fit a facet inline one , cheapy and easier to change on the dide of the road.
If they are suitable for a 38. Got one on my 110 200tdi with no problem.
And I'm sure there probably is, but the search function doesn't like the fbh, there are just so many posts about it. It could do with a sticky.......Should be some info on here about this, I a Vellman kit on my 53 plate then swap it over to the 08 I have now, just need to connect it to the 3 wire plug right hand side in the rear.
Oh yeah, that's the one got from cnc or whatever they are called? All the fuel leaked out?It was a recon Bosch pump, but clearly not done a very good job with it. Been fitted for a month. Big sad.
But a P38 only just tips over the 2000kg .when i had mine recovered, the guy commented he could recover up to (i think it was 2.2t)
"close enough" was the answer when i said it weighed in at 2.7t
Had a call back...another hour. 2.5 hrs total IF they turn up by 2.30.
The Facit pump will work OK in the pipe to the filter assuming that the intake in the tank is clear. for safety, it should be wired into the in tank pump circuit.I'm too skint to buy a new vdo pump , new 4th injector, car x 2 insurance , house insurance, landy car tax plus all my regular bills have left me very poor, feckin Xmas coming too!
I've got a facet pump spare though so that'll cost little to install but I can't find anything online to say it'll work fine, can't see why it won't but ya know....
2.25 tonne to be exactBut a P38 only just tips over the 2000kg .

That's what I intended to do and it's the easiest wiring wise. If I do fit one it'll be near the tank mounted on a chassis rail. The Facit pump will work OK in the pipe to the filter assuming that the intake in the tank is clear. for safety, it should be wired into the in tank pump circuit.
Under the bonnet is where I would put it. Make sure it has sufficient capacity. That's what I intended to do and it's the easiest wiring wise. If I do fit one it'll be near the tank mounted on a chassis rail.
